A five star display from Rhys King ensured that Baconstown NS were back in the winners enclosure with this late late victory over Moynalvey NS in the Division 3 Hurling final. They last won a Division 2 title in 2017.
The winners dominated the early exchanges, points from joint captains Sean Enright and Michael Flynn and a Rhys King goal gave them a 1-2 to 0-1 lead after ten minutes but for the remainder of the half Moynalvey took over.
The outstanding James Hanifin hit 1-2 and before Eibheann Keegan’s half time whistle Adam Dunne got their second goal and Moynalvey went in at the break 2-3 to 1-2 in front.
With five minutes remaining Moynalvey still had that four point cushion before King found the back of their net twice to seal a memorable win for the boys in Black and Amber.
