A win over Wexford and a disappointing loss to Dublin summed up Meath’s Leinster U20 campaign. There were encouraging signs though as some of this squad are beginning to make their way on to the senior panel.
Shane Walsh had already established himself on Andy McEntee’s side while Cathal Hickey, Jack O’Connor and Mathew Costello have showed Meath supporters that there is plenty of hope in the future with some encouraging displays especially during the championship run.
One player stood head and shoulders above the rest.
Jordan Morris came on as a sub in the last league game against Monaghan and the rest as they say is history. The Nobber star scored seven points that day and rescued a draw. Morris continued that form in the Leinster championship with 3-4 against Wicklow, 1-1 against Kildare and four points in the decider against Dublin to finish provincial top scorer.
Jordan Morris is our Young Footballer of the Year.
