
· The local club football championships got up and running and holders Dunboyne enjoyed a 1-16 to 0-14 winning start against Curraha.
· Meath claimed the Leinster U-14 Ladies Football FC title in fine style with a 6-11 to 0-9 final victory over Dublin at Kinnegad.
· Eamonn Murray’s Meath ladies finished the group stages of the their NFL campaign with a 1-9 to 1-16 loss away to Down but the result was immaterial as a semi-final place was already in the bag.
· The Meath U16 girls got their hands on provincial silverware thanks to a merited 3-9 to 2-5 final win over Dublin at Ballymore Eustace GAA club. The team was captained by full-back Emma Jane McKeown and the goal scorers were Amy O’Dowd, Anna Wogan and ‘player of the match’ Ciara Smyth.
· Boardsmill’s Vinny Guy was ratified as Meath U-21 hurling manager at the April meeting of the County Committee.
· GAA President John Horan and Ard Stiurthoir Tom Ryan launched the new GAA manifesto ‘We All Belong’ at the St Colmcille’s club.
