Is there nothing that can be done about Roscommon posters coming on here being demeaning towards Leitrim? Seems to be pages and pages of particular posters on here being WUMs and they are getting away with it

I post about a Leitrim game a decade ago, poster from another county mocks that post. Then he posts about a game a decade ago about his own team in a similar vein and sees no irony in that. And only one post on his own forum after winning a cup and can't be got off the Leitrim thread. There are none so blind etc.

RIP Michael Lyster - 3 Like(s)
The death was announced yesterday, at the age of 71 of former rte presenter Michael Lyster.

But of course he was more than just a presenter in that organisation, he really was the face of Summer for anyone who loves gaelic games.

He presented the Sunday Game for 34 years with a mix of professionalism, humour, fairness and respect.

As soon as that famous theme tune kicked in you knew you were going to witness some action or game people would be talking about Monday morning.

Some of my earliest memories are of him and Enda Colleran chatting away about the big games that had taken place

Yet another part of childhood gone in a sign of becoming older. May he rest in peace.

Doesn't look like Galway have improved under their new coaching regime either. Probably a bad move for them there from evidence last Saturday

I thought Roscommon had the All Ireland won?

Replying To Gantric:  "Where will the final be if Leitrim win?"
You'd imagine it would be Dr Hyde Park, if the pitch is able to take it.

A Galway Mayo final awaits for the purists but hopefully we can give the tribesmen a good run out to test against their old rivals

Replying To Gaa_lover:  "You had no point. I've pointed out that little bit of research goes a long way.

And on the topic Roscommon reached the Minor Connacht final tonight by beating Mayo in Castlebar by 10 points. Its their 3rd Connacht final in a row at that level.

No shame in giving your neighbours Roscommon a bit of credit with how they hold their own with the "big two" in Connacht."
What's it to you who I give credit to. It is plain to see there is a big two in Connacht going by senior titles won.

Here is some research for you, Galway have 51 provincial titles, Mayo has 47. All the rest are nowhere.

There's plenty of opportunity for you to praise your county on your own thread

Football has been played in Leitrim for centuries...there's your history

Football has one of the highest participation rates per capita in the country in Leitrim...there's your culture

Young boys and girls have plenty of role models playing with Leitrim to look up to e.g. Barry McNulty and the Ladies Connacht intermediate champions.

We don't need any psuedo sociological lessons on footballing matters from outsiders.

Replying To 3rdmidfielder:  "Waterford v Tipp in Munster football championship teams of similar standard to Leitrim and Sligo, general admission 15euro, students 10euro, kids free."
Don't say that to some of the Sligo folk here, they think they are Real Madrid

The coverage online of the McNulty goal taken from someone in the stand is better than what rte showed. And they baffingly failed to show the most important part of the game...the last 30 seconds. But not entirely surprising with the product rte show.

Replying To moros:  "Ros are in Division one love and have three wins. Yes and we still have the fears of relegation. Hopefully it will work out. As for yourselves. Could you get relegated from Division four. Now that really would be "calving" as you say. Keep it up in the air and keep working hard. Please thank you very much."
I've been looking at Roscommon thread and you haven't posted anything on it in two weeks yet you're never off here on this thread. I know you Roscommon folk like to come to Leitrim to party etc as there is nowhere in your own county but surely your contributions would be more valuable on your own page

Replying To Square_B:  "All Leitrim supporters should listen back to the end of the commentary on Ocean FM and what was said about Graham (link attached - https://www.oceanfm.ie/podcasts/ocean-fm-sport/connnacht-sfc-sligo-v-leitrim-the-commentary-12-04-2026-1184462)"
Credit must be given to ocean fm for their coverage. You can go online and listen to Leitrim games in full as can Sligo if they're playing at the same time. Other outlets should take note of that

Looking forward to the game myself, and seeing Barry McNulty competing against one of the big two in the province. As some are saying he is probably the best player in the province at the moment so I am sure he will get attentions.

I'd imagine that there will be a decent crowd

Replying To togoutlads:  "We in Galway were honestly lucky enough to get out of there today with a win. A very good Leitrim team and something good is undoubtedly building with that group ye have. Best of luck for the rest of the summer and go raibh maith agaibh for the usual craic and great reception around lovely Carrick."
Always a pleasure to have Galway fans visit. Very knowledgeable about football and good craic too. Best of luck in the final v Mayo and further in the championship.

One swallow does not make a summer. It was a mighty result but another five mins and I think Sligo might have won...we'll have to play to the highest level to maintain a respectable score against Galway.
