Jamie Moynihan produced a performance his famous father Seamus would have been proud of in the Corn Uí Mhuirí yesterday.
Moynihan scored 1-6 from midfield as St Brendan’s College, Killarney kept their three-in-a-row hopes alive with a 2-18 to 1-11 quarter-final victory over Clonakilty Community College in wet and windy conditions at Banteer. With the sides level on 0-4 apiece, Moynihan took the game by the scruff of the neck with a quickfire 1-2.
A late goal from Alex Hennigan handed ‘Sem’ a flattering 10-point victory and a place in the semi-final against fellow Kerry outfit Mercy Mounthawk, Tralee.
