Glen will lodge an objection to the CCCC today after it emerged that Kilmacud Crokes had 16 players defending their goal during the closing stages of last Sunday's All-Ireland club SFC final.

Kilmacud Crokes won by two points, but a replay is now likely as having 16 players on the field at the same time is a breach of Rule 6.44, the penalties for which include overturning the result and awarding the game to the opposing team, a replay or a fine for the opposing team.

The Watty Graham's had hit out at the GAA for placing the onus of them to appeal the result, describing their refusal to review the matter until they objected as "extremely disappointing". The Derry champions confirmed last night that they would, indeed, be lodging an appeal ahead of the 3.30pm deadline today.

"Watty Graham's GAC will lodge an objection to the CCCC in relation to the outcome of last Sunday’s All-Ireland club final," a spokesperson for the Maghera club said.
