Young Eoin Griffin was diagnosed with malignant nongerminomatous germ cell tumour and his local community is fundraising for six weeks of proton radiotherapy abroad.

The Loughrea underage player has already undergone surgery and four rounds of chemotherapy.

He was due to travel to Germany for treatment but that is not possible due to Covid restrictions and the community are fundraising with the hope of sending Eoin for treatment in Switzerland or America.
