Tonight’s victory over Galway saw Cork’s Patrick Horgan becoming the leading scorer in National Hurling League history.

With his second point of the night, the Glen Rovers clubman overtook Kilkenny legend Eddie Keher’s scoring record (which stood for nearly 50 years) to once again write his name into the history books in what was his 95th league game for Cork.

Horgan is now the leading scorer in both league and championship hurling and his 1-9 contribution tonight helped put the Rebels into the Division 1A final in two weeks’ time when they will face Tipperary in what is set to be a first league decider meeting between the two old rivals since 1960.
