Dingle have been handed a huge boost with the news that Mark O'Connor has been granted permission by Geelong to line out in Sunday week's All-Ireland club SFC final against St Brigid's.

Mitch Cleary of 7News Melbourne reports that O'Connor will be allowed to remain in Ireland for a further two weeks to allow him to play in the Andy Merrigan Cup decider. It means that the 28-year-old, who is one of just four Irish players to win an AFL Premiership, will return to pre-season training with the Cats later than expected.

O’Connor's AFL club have already allowed him to play in Dingle’s triumphant Kerry and Munster campaigns as well as in last Saturday's epic All-Ireland club SFC semi-final victory over Ballyboden St Enda's at SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimh.

“We need him. He’s a massive player for us. We lost Barry O’Sullivan there this year, which is a huge loss for us. Just delighted that we were able to get Mark coming in," Dingle manager Padraig Corcoran said after the Dublin champions were overcome after extra-time.
