Cork GAA have unveiled their new home jersey for 2027, with the return of the iconic red collar a nod to the ‘blood and bandage’ worn during the county’s All-Ireland hurling triumphs in 2004 and 2005.
Designed by O’Neills, the new strip features a subtle pattern incorporating elements of the Cork crest.
Cork GAA CEO Kevin O’Donovan said the design reflects the county’s identity and heritage.
“We’ve leaned into some of the things that we believe Cork GAA stands for and is universally associated with – strength, identity and power,” O’Donovan is quoted saying by EchoLive.ie
“There’s such a rich heritage across both codes and we wanted the inclusion of the county crest to reflect that.”
He added: “We look forward to seeing our greatest ambassadors, our players, donning our beloved ‘blood and bandage’ as we approach 2027 with hope and unity.”
The jersey will be worn by Rebels’ senior hurlers and footballers during their Allianz National League campaigns in January. It is available through Sports Direct and O’Neills, with the away jersey and training kit to follow.
