Kerry SFC draw throws up some heavyweight clashes

The draw for the Kerry senior football championship took place night throwing up some intriguing clashes for next month.

The competition’s new structure is set to see four groups of four team with the top two from each advancing to the quarter-final stages.

Holders Austin Stacks have been drawn into Group 3 along with West Kerry, Mid Kerry and their Tralee rivals Na Gaeil, while last year’s runners up Kerins O’Rahillys are in Group 2 with Spa, league winners Dingle and East Kerry.

Round 1 of the competition is scheduled to start on the weekend of September 10/11 and will be played at neutral venues.

Dr Crokes v St Kierans
Kenmare Shamrocks v Shannon Rangers

Group 2

Kerins O’Rahillys v East Kerry
Dingle v Spa

Group 3

Austin Stacks v Na Gaeil
Mid Kerry v West Kerry

Group 4

St Brendans v Feale Rangers
Templenoe v South Kerry
