Came away from Omagh disappointed . We were doing everything well the first half except we kept giving away frees in scoreable positions. We really need to learn how to tackle.
The second half was a different animal. We kept making mistakes from the goalkeeper right up to the forwards and we just seemed to run out of steam and were like a different team altogether.
Unless we get a winning mentality we will never get any silverware.

He didn't play full back at any level until county minor when we had nobody else.

Don't think he's players there for Redhills regularly if ever.

We are by far the lowest scoring team across the whole 4 divisions of the league. We have no hope of winning ANY games unless we change our tactics dramatically.

Cavan are now 40/1 to avoid relegation.

Well Sean I wouldn't base scoring over the 4 divisions . we would probably score more in div 2, even more in 3 and probably a lot in 4. Fact is we are a div 2 team and that's it.

if you're going to throw €20 away, give it to a local charity or buy club lotto tickets rather than giving it to paddy power or Boyle Sports !!

I will kit out the U12s with a new set of Jerseys from the proceeds - with 'Miracles Do Happen' as the sponsor logo!

Well, I would hope that we would score more against lower division teams but if you compare all teams to their so-called peers we are worse than any team in the scoring dept.

What players? Jack and James are injured. The others who could be considered are under 21.

Having not missed a Cavan game in the last few years there a few things I would like to throw our for discussion. Most posters on here say there are no good forwards in the county. I believe the system we play isolating one forward with three/four defenders covering him no forward from any county would thrive.we are far to slow getting the ball up the field and give the opposition plenty of time to track back back. I think the biggest culprit we have in slowing the game down is Conor Moynagh this was very obvious on Sunday in Omagh.our kick out and restarts are very poor with players having their back to the ball and not giving the goalkeeper options. I found Sunday very frustrating particularly in the second half that we were pre enter from taking quick kick outs as a ball would be thrown on to the pitch from behind the goals and the referee ordered it to be removed before kick out. Thus happened on eleven occasions in the second half and not once in the first half when Cavan were kicking into that goal.
People call our discipline into question and the frees given away would back that opinion. I honestly could not see much difference in the tackling of Tyrone and Cavan get we seem to give away the frees!
Killian Clarke in my option was given a very harsh red card against Donegal - Michael Murphy played his part engineering it, yet Peter Harte avoided a blatent red on Sunday getting a yellow instead and Tieran McCann should have got a black card going by the rule for taking out a runner on Sunday got a yellow and played a big part in the se one half when he shouldn't have been on the pitch. And yes Dara Mcvetty should have got red against Donegal.
Anyway I will travel to Enniskillen tomorrow and Castlebar on Sunday in hope.

I believe that cavan can beat Mayo in Mchale park on Sunday. Gearoid mckiernan appears to be coming back to form, hopefully Faulkner will be back as i believe that he is more than a match for Andy Moran. Both O Sheas and Parson are rumoured to be out. Mayo have a good panel but if we can play in the first half like we did for 30 minutes against Tyrone Mayo do not have the personnel in reserve to alter the game to the affect that Tyrone did. Beat them and me may yet stay up.

Good man Evano, keep supporting the team! I hope to get to Castlebar also but won't make Enniskillen. I think that we are up against it but a win on Sunday would change the entire complexion and would certainly put a lot of pressure on Mayo to get one more win. It is a must win and actually a loss could mean relegation is confirmed depending on other results.

Having Faulkner back is a positive and I suppose Killian Clarke is back also? I'd love to see more from our forward line but as you saw in Omagh, we scored 1-8 in the first half against a top team! Our second half display was littered with basic errors and concession of free's. But I saw enough in the first half to believe that we are capable of putting in a big performance and we are due a win. I have not put up the white flag like most here and lets get to Castlebar to support the team!

I would like to welcome all my friends and fellow supporters to Castlebar on Sunday! My only home match of the year, I have a feeling we have a chance of turning the corner as Mayo play open football, so come on the Blues!

Mayo are sounding very cocky on their own board, talking about trying out players once safety is secured against us. The perfect situation to give them a bloody nose! Its a fair spin to Castlebar and this is last chance saloon- a real test of resolve for the supporters. We need 1500+ in the stand on Sunday to back this team.

very worried about this trip to castlebar. It could go either of 2 ways. mayo could rip us to shreds . make no mistake about it, they have the personnel to do so. They are extremely physical. Players like, Donal Vaughan, Colm boyle, barrett, keegan inDefence, Parsons, Gibbons,Doherty andy Moran, The O' Connors could do untold damage, However the man I would fear most is kevin McLoughlin, He can hassle and harry and turn over ball , he can then turn defence in to attack with a precision pass , usually diagonally that will take out our entire defence. It will be good to get Faulkner back as I think he could match Freeman or Moran (although it's a tall order for someone so young and inexperienced). I'm not sure I agree with previous poster about Moynagh being the worst culprit at slowing the game down, At least that was not his natural game (it must have been coached into him.) I remember at under-21 and against Armagh last year he was flying. He gave the keeper options from the kickout and was getting the ball moving forward. Sometimes mackey and M.Reilly are the main culprits (although having said that, they are 2 of our best players). I feel Argue should have been preserved with at midfield even if he struggles at times. He is the future and needs to have more game time. Mattie is the exact opposite of Terry with his substitutions (a happy medium would do nicely ..especially with the younger players.).
