There not a hope in hell of Ballinagh beating Ramor. Not a hope.

Hard to see past Castlerahan for the senior championship, too many near misses in the past, this will be their year and more power to them, long enough banging on that door. ramor101 (Cavan) - Posts: 289 - 19/08/2016 13:51:37 1903206 Link 0 |
Senior is Castlerahan's to lose, lot of chat about Ramor but it will be 2/3 years before that team matures to win a senior.Kingscourt are likely to be in the shake up again. Are the Gaels much better than result the last day?Are punters writing off the Gaels? celt2018 (Cavan) - Posts: 160 - 19/08/2016 16:09:49 1903268 Link 1 |
Lavey are ticking along very nicely.Who would have predicted that one.New management doing very well.they have some great players.Shane Tierney scored 1-7 last night against Killeshandra. He is on top form along with Gerry smith, Ray Cullivan,The Jordan brothers to name a few.Conroy didn't even play last night.Should they get a favourable draw in the quarters who knows how far they can go.Gud to see a new team in the final mix Paconnor (Cavan) - Posts: 2 - 20/08/2016 15:30:40 1903564 Link 1 |
Don't forget Killeshandra were barely able to field a team such are their woes.

Yes that's true but Lavey were missing 3 of there key players as well but got the job done. Its their defeat of Kingscourt that really impressed me.Limited bench but if they keep everyone fit there in with a shout for at least a semi spot and that would be a good achievement.

What a win for Cootehill, great for the championship overall too. John McCutcheon, the forgotten man, was class as usual. MadgeKing (Cavan) - Posts: 493 - 21/08/2016 09:45:49 1903743 Link 0 |
Lavey should not get carried away with their win over a very poor Killyshandra team who only had two subs so sad to see from a team of quality over the last few years. Great win for Cootehill they played their heart out and yes McCutchion stood out once again. I have to be honest here but with all the so called quality players the gaels are suppose to have can someone tell me why they don't perform. I feel sorry for Anthony Forde for I thought with his credentials he would have weeded out those that are no value to him and really developed his stamp on the gaels. As manager the buck stops with him but does he have full control of who play's every other weekend or has to to go with the majority decision regarding the selection of the starting fifteen. If the answer is yes well I feel Anthony should walk away. Arva scraped a dogged win but I suppose at the end of the day a win is a win. Cavan Gaels were very poor and Cootehill should have beaten them by a lot more. How come Seanie didn't start? They didn't even have their usual annoying noisey supporters. It's good for the championship to have new clubs making the final. Looking forward to the rest of the games. Arva struggled against a bad Bailieboro team. They will need to improve a lot to get to the final. marita (None) - Posts: 468 - 21/08/2016 14:46:15 1903802 Link 0 |
Lavey topped their group, taking a big scalp by beating Kingscourt, easily beat Crosserlough, had nothing to play for against Killeshandra. If they can keep injury free they are serious contenders, you would be a fool to write them off Bren16 (Cavan) - Posts: 2 - 21/08/2016 15:40:28 1903829 Link 1 |
So after the final round of games . Ramor Castlerahan ,Coothill and lavey top their groups . Cavan Gaels in relagation play offs. Think everything is set up for US this year kinglarry (Cavan) - Posts: 189 - 21/08/2016 21:40:14 1904167 Link 0 |
Even with no Cooney and Coleman and Smith?

Ramor will not be beaten , Cuchullainns will beat Lacken in replay and will tighten Castlerahan in 1/4 finals , Lavey have done well and will end up in a semi but that's as good as it gets for them , Ramor , Caslerahan, Cootehill and Lavey for the semis , depending on the draw Ramor Castlerahan Final , Ramor to win tight local derby , Killinkere for Intermediate unless Arva improve , Sad to say but Anthony Forde and Peter Reillys teams really show them up as county level managers Kildallan for the Junior , Too much favouritism with referees , because they are all from within the county , they know everyone and have friends in different clubs that are determining some of their decisions , For Championship only I think referees should be from a local county for each county championship , TheDoomer (Cavan) - Posts: 4 - 22/08/2016 01:31:49 1904248 Link 0 |
why are ramor so unstoppable this year as opposed to previous years. I agree they are a good team, having lots of underage success. But year after year they've been tipped as winning it out. Yet have folded on numerous occassions. It is wide open though. just_the_facts (Cavan) - Posts: 163 - 22/08/2016 10:19:44 1904321 Link 0 |
"Too much favouritism with referees , because they are all from within the county , they know everyone and have friends in different clubs that are determining some of their decisions , For Championship only I think referees should be from a local county for each county championship" Could not agree anymore with you "TheDoomer". I have been to most senior games and a right few Intermediate games and the standard of refereeing is a joke. Far to bias towards certain teams and in particular towards county footballers, you are not able to put your hand on them without them getting a free. Far to many referees have never even played football at a senior level and have no idea how to do it properly. Was the the Arvagh and Bailieboro game, what on earth was Conor Gilsenan doing? Surely he will get a long suspension for what he done, madness. Good tough win for Arvagh without looking to play well at all. Cootehill were very worthy winners against a poor ego Cavan Gaels team. Couldnt believe how bad they were. Cootehill could have made the scoreline look a lot worse but for a few missed goal chances. Josh Hayes destroyed Martin Dunne but still can't get a look into the Cavan team. John Mc Cutcheon was unbelievable, an absolute machine around the middle of the park. Seems to be the forgotton man in cavan. Cootehill have plenty of promise and they could be dark horses, great side to watch and play football the right way with a very fast and formidable young team. Lacken were very lucky last night, kicked an outrageous amount of wides and stole it at the end. But fair dues to them for sticking it out. Cuchaillians are a horrible team to watch in my opinion. 12/13 men inside their own 45, effective and can play it well but just horrible for gaelic football. They seem a very fit team with a few good forwards, could be dangerous. SwadMan11 (Cavan) - Posts: 50 - 22/08/2016 10:23:09 1904325 Link 0 |
They're always unstoppable in the group, but think that's as far as they'll go, Castlerahan top their group without breaking a sweat or lighting up the scoreboard, not showing their hand and saving their A game for the knockout end. Watch Kingscourt creeping up in the long grass methinks a repeat of last years final with a different result

I think Kingscourt again. Castlerahan a bit short.
