they were drawn the week before in 2a, this was 2b draw. Losers of C/T play carlow

Excitement starting to build towards the replay on Sunday.

Cavan's record in replays has not been good. Hopefully that will change on Sunday.

We now know we can really compete with Tyrone and each game we play is bringing us on to a higher level. It's important that we continue to learn and improve on previous outings. By that I mean both players and management.

If we are to kick on, on Sunday and beat Tyrone, we need to find a way to get Gearoid more involved in every aspect of his play. Also Killian Clarke.
These two are top players and I am sure they themselves will have a point to prove.

Seanie Johnson has to play closer to goal and if he finds himself out around the middle trying to do a marking job then the sideline has options of introducing a player like Gerry Smith that has the pace, marksmanship and marking skills to do both.

Lastly We've all touched on it on this page and frankly I am disappointed that in all the after match analysis since the last day no one has asked Terry why subs were not introduced earlier. Top teams have shown that if we are to win at the highest level then we must have impact subs to come in that arguably leave us stronger at the end of the game than at the beginning. Cavan have them so management will have to stay composed on the line and use them when lads are getting tired.

Bring on Sunday. Can't wait.

We have to empty the bench quicker than we did the last day especially if it's a bad energy sapping day. The subs there are equally as good as what's playing and it's an insult to give a player 2 injury time minutes when you looking for a win. Thats the main area the management seem to be lacking in is switches and subs. If they could get that right added to the will to win and never say die attitude that's already instilled then we could be a serious force. Hopefully we will get a dry day and our pace can come to the fore. If we have brushed up a bit on our shooting and even convert half the wides we had against Tyrone in the previous 2 games then we will take beating.

Your right, no point in good players sitting on the line and the game slipping away because of fatigue management needs to use the bench a lot earlier, best of luck to all on Sunday.

The media in Cavan are never going to ask the management any difficult questions in pre or post match interviews. Never going to happen. It's all pre rehearsed .

Awwwwnow have to agree with you regarding media. Also a lot of posters made a lot of scene in how we could improve for the next day . Also think management are on this forum drip feeding possible team selection for popularity rather than form. Both our captain and sj have hardly had a kick of the ball in their last 2 games v Tyrone yet we will still start them. This can't be good for rest of the panel. Maybe they would be better bringing them on with 15 to go .Clarke needs to go back into the backs and not shoot if he does go forward. We need more than 7 points the next day . We probably need around the 17 point mark. So please play forwards as forwards .

The very best of luck to Cavan on Sunday team and management. We are well capable of getting a victory.

I dont know who you re referring to there - i m certainly not part of the management - i wouldnt know them if i met them . I just go to all the games and give as honest an assessment as i can of the players performances. Getting back to the lineout I dont know how you could suggest leaving Mc Kiernan off . As i said earlier he s surely entitled to the odd off day - he was probably our man of the match in every league game apart from the final where he still managed to score a couple of lovely points despite being doubly and trebly marked most of the game. I absolutely agree that the substitutions are left far too late - particularly Jack Brady who should have been on for the entire second half at least. In fact I would start him this time for Seanie - he can hit the frees from the left every bit as good and he s a real live wire ( the only one downside is he doesnt score near as many goal as Johnston but i be delighted to be proven wrong ! ) Ciaran Brady surely has to start as well - at least he can score when he gets up the field not like some of the other backs. Anyway I think we re going to do it Sunday - good luck lads.

I think GMac was alot quieter the last day than he was in the league final. I don't understand it as physically and fitnesswise he should be every bit as good as Donnelly/C.kavanagh etc. If it's not working out again on Sunday then I would suggest we switch him with Givney

tough turn-around for Tyrone although I would think they should still beat carlow.

The time for talking is now over, Sunday will answer many questions, it will be an informative day, are we serious contenders and have we got the belief to kick on in games when in a winning position.

just 1 sour note for what should be a great weekend of ulster semis ( which i intend to go to) how come there are no price reductions for the replays ? (as was always customary) You will note that there are no details of prices on all the ticket adverts for both matches looks like a wee bit of sharp practice by the GAA on us supporters.
