So lads, time to start focusing on our noisy neighbors.

I think its a make or break game for our year. If we don't leave Navan with the points then we are in real trouble. I do however think that we can win this one. We have to.

I wonder if he will start with Seanie and Keating inside. Have a feeling he might.

This is a game we are well capable of winning but our style of play tends to keep our opponents in with a shout right up to the end....and this does not suit us as we seldom get over the line in a tight finish.. I too hope he plays Keating and Johnstone but it won't matter if our build up is painfully slow as the ball won't be played into them in time....

All posters on here were not at any of the games so far . Keating has been way of the pace . Johnson has been brought on in all games to no effect. We started our last game without a free taker . We missed 4 frees in the first half alone . We are too slow moving the ball forward. Forwards play as backs and our backs up kicking the ball into goalkeeper s hands. None of this makes any sense. Time to make the right calls Terry instead of listening to bluffer's. Hopefully this gets posted 5th time trying.

This is a game we need to win. Hard to know what to make of Meath- they seem to be in a bit of a lull at the moment and can be flaky confidence wise but are still capable of putting in a good performance.
Keating and Johnson are options and if McDermott is back then there will be selection headaches for Terry. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of seeing Givney on the edge of the square either and us going very direct. Going to be very tense and both teams are in squeaky bum time. Hard to know which of us can least afford a defeat.

Mcdermot out for league according to reports. I'd play givney and Johnson inside for this one. Brian menton and one of newman's quit their panel also mickey Burke at 6 could be an opportunity for cavan. Asked it before but what became of turlough mooney? Would love to have seen him at 11. He played club games last year.

Johnston needs game time. What's he going to do in 10 mins? That's all he has been getting. He's also a proven free taker

Well kinglarry I watched the who;e of the Derry match and I try to not wear blinkers. I could not go the first match because of what I do and the 3G was fully booked all day for matches in fact until 2215. I saw enough of the Derry game to say we left two 100% points behind us in Breiffni and we are well capable of winning our remaining matches. Should we play like we did against Derry I have no problems saying this.

Kinglarry, you are contradicting yourself there. How can you complain about the forwards doing nothing and then say we don't get the ball into them?

You are right to say that we are moving the ball too slow. We all know that and nobody is disputing that. I was at the Derry game and we had a great chance as they didn't have a blanket defense - it only appeared because all of their men got back due to the fact the ball was so slow getting up the field. I think if the service comes to Johnstone and Keating then they will be hard to stop!

From what I've seen Keating and Johnson look rusty but hopefully game time will improve their sharpness. The same for Givney. POC looks like a lad who is going to be staking a claim as well and Tom Hayes offers something different if he continues his development. Joe Dillion is also someone with potential for us if he can push on and put injuries behind him and of course McDermott is probably our most consistent inside man for the last few years. After years of being very limited with inside options we are starting to hopefully see some of our younger players pushing for places and coupled with a return of a few older lads there is finally some semblance of competition developing in the squad for inside berths. If we can survive this year in Division 2 and develop our forward and attacking options then it will be a very positive year and puts us on an upward trend.
Like I said before this is a very important match for us and we desperately need points on the board to get our campaign back on track.

I would take a point here if I'm honest. Shall we sit back with 15 behind the ball and hold out for a 0-00 draw perhaps?

Hard to see anything but a Cavan win to be honest.

Meath were average against Armagh and not great in the second half against a very poor Armagh side,Meath continued that form(slightly worse) into the Fermanagh game and came up short.Cavan are a better side than both of those imo.Cavan so far have zero points, but it doesn't tell the whole story, two very narrow defeats against the two best sides in the league, should leave them in a decent mood against Meath.Meath will have to improve an awful lot and I cannot see that happening.
Cavan by 5 points or so.

From talking to people and reading, the performances are there, just not the end result. We left this game behind us last year. Time to stand up and again put in the performance but finish this game out with 2 points on the board. Best of luck to Cavan on Sunday.

The reality is that the loser of this game will most likely be relegated. No points from 3 games will be almost insurmountable for Cavan and Meath on the other hand have big challenges ahead even though you have points on the board. Looking forward to making the trip over to Navan and usually some good banter in the stands. This is a good derby but a loss will see us facing local Derby's with Longford (no offence) next year in div 3.

Would I be mad in backing Cavan to win in Navan? Maybe a little, but I will say Cavan by 4!

Use your head or your pea brain or a little bit of common sense it's no wonder we are where we are. Why not copy and paste the whole post and let people see how stupid or ridicules you are.
