Yikes. Lot of tumbleweed blowing round here, understandable with results so far. The crowing from Monaghans and Westmeathers not helping.

But fair to say we're in a bit of a hole and it doesn't get any easier in Omaha on Sunday. Tyrone not pulling up trees in the league yet, but they're always favourites against us. Could be a televised kicking on TG4, but at least it's on the 15th so can't be another St. Valentine's Day Massacre! If we can finally put together a 70-minute performance we could cause an upset, but probably a long shot.

In other news, following his retirement, fair play to the Gunner Brady. Could be a frustrating liability for giving away scoreable frees at times, but he matured well into a good dependable defender. Got the Ulster medal his body of work deserved.

Always Tyrone...
Team played well in the 1st half, but just destroyed again in 2nd half. Pressure, kick outs and bad kicking. No real goal chances. Wrong passes at crucial times. Team needs to work attack. Kildare game now key.Keep it up!

Have Cavan no player that can catch a ball
on the kick outs

The first half was decent ,but Tyrone looked like they could step it up at their will. The 2 goals they got they broke at pace and opened up the Cavan defence. Brady had a few good saves in the second half. Cavan are not moving the ball fast enough. Defence very porous. Giving up lots of goal chances. Lynch done well when he came on. Oisin Brady and Mcveety good in spells.

They do...just none that want to train 7 nights a week. These county players get bested during the club championship by lads that train twice a week but that won't do seemingly

After two defeats in the McKenna Cup and three defeats in the National League, what should our realistic expectations be for 2026? Can we maintain our Division 2 status - especially with the weaker teams still to play, relegation and aim for a Tailteann Cup win, beat Monaghan and Derry, and reach the Ulster final?"

There will be a lot of pressure on the kildare game. You would need likely need 6pts to stay up. Cavan have Derry away in the final game which would not be easy looking for points. Kildare have performed well enough so far. Got a draw in Omagh and looked the better team in that game. Derry were down to 14 but came back and defeated Kildare in Newbridge.

You'd hope it'll be relegation and then into a championship of our level.

Is it really coming down to a head-to-head v Louth for Cavan? If they beat Kildare and lose to Louth it would still mean relegation is most likely.
Looking at it that way however, you'd have to think Cavan will survive as ye are a good bit ahead of Louth in terms of overall quality.

Cavan are currently-15 on the score difference with only offaly with a worse score on -19. They have beaten louth the last 2 years in the league. But both games could have went either way. The likes of faulkner will be a big loss for these of games. Louth are mostly reliant on Mulroys free.

I think it's head to head, so if we beat Louth and Offaly, Louth will need two wins or a win and a draw from their three remaining games which are Tyrone, Derry and Kildare.

So in essence that Louth game is going to be huge. And it's on tg4 I believe

Its Micheal Hannon. Very good insight. Great corner back n half back in his day. Has a very good piece in Anglo Celt this week.

Massive game for Cavan this Sunday. Whatever about the Tyrone result, Cavan have enough possession to score very high in games. The ball needs to be worked quicker and more clinical for goal chances. More kicking and less hand passing. Quicker use of the bench. Kildare are going well, and will be tough. Lucky for Cavan Alex Beirne is out this week. Its a flip of a coin

Hannon isn't a former commentator though. He still commentates
