I'm surprised Neven Maguire wasn't in there as the cook

Do people think that number is not normal for a squad these days? In fact, surprised it's not bigger. the only thing is seeing it written out. Top teams would ahve far more. It's fine, they'll all have set roles, and not all are for game day and such Loughduff Lad (Cavan) - Posts: 2450 - 25/08/2023 11:23:50 2502190 Link 1 |
Rumours circulating that the announcement was premature and shouldnt have been announced until after the ratification! cavanblueman (Cavan) - Posts: 636 - 25/08/2023 12:40:30 2502211 Link 0 |
They did say he's the recommended choice subject to ratification, so they've that covered. Always a chance he's not ratified, but that'd be rare

How would the process work? Could the clubs stop the appointment?

i see they only have 5 stats men on the management team surely they need 5 or 6 more, Are they not going to record and monitor each players bowel movements what side of the bed they sleep on and which hand they use to scratch their ***** surely all this information like all stats information would be of great benefit to the management team. breffnibluewhite (Cavan) - Posts: 479 - 25/08/2023 13:37:13 2502224 Link 0 |
I think it'd be the usual county board meeting with a few delegates from each club. It'd be vote yes or no maybe, and I'd say it'd be highly unusual for the clubs to vote in enough numbers to overturn the recommendation. You'd usually get a few outlier votes, but in absence of other options, they'll ratify easily I'd say. You'd have to have a completely divisive option, or something huge happened in the meantime to take a vote to not ratify

Didn't Monaghan have 32 in the backroom squad when Sheedy was involved?

Not sure if this is a mistake in the Irish examiners interview with Stevie O'Neill today but it states 'Galligan will also be assisted by ex-Cavan forward Jason O'Reilly and experienced coach/manager Micheal McDermott' Leitrim1234 (Leitrim) - Posts: 316 - 19/09/2023 09:13:14 2504727 Link 0 |
Up to 21 of a back room team now… Twice as many as Manchester City…. We must have Saudi backers or something…???

Nah that has to be a mistake. Looks like they took the other 2 nominated to run back a few months ago and somehow got it added in. His main team looks quite set

So Mickey Graham goes in as assistant to Andy Moran in Leitrim……surely with the view of taking over in the future….The phone mustn't have rang as often as some on here thought when he ended up taking that post…. ForeverBlue2 (Cavan) - Posts: 3027 - 19/09/2023 19:10:11 2504861 Link 0 |
The fact he wanted Graham to stay on with the backroom team doesn't bode well that things are going to change much.. wishfulthinkin (Cavan) - Posts: 1720 - 20/09/2023 01:15:36 2504881 Link 0 |
Yes. Look how that turned out.

I don't think so. Don't know where they held back. That Celt long interview was good. He phoned Graham to get him to stay before he decided to leave, and then talked to him when he applied. But I didn't see anywhere that had him bringing Graham in as part of the team

sounds to me like galligan has his own ideas on how the attack should shape up and how you should break down a mass defence. i seriously doubt he wants the predecessor hanging around when he is implementing change. Graham is destined for Leitrim anyway under andy moran. strange move in my mind moving there after hyland and jayo. Creilly_Baby (Cavan) - Posts: 41 - 21/09/2023 18:58:45 2505111 Link 0 |
