Maybe that's backwards in your eyes, other clubs would be proud. Just an FYI neither killygarry school nor Crubany has a football pitch. You'd want vet those pub conversations"
In one post, you've just told me that you lost 2 out of the last 3 minor finals and you have 3 feeder schools, probably the most out of any club in the County.

Not sure what you meant about either school having a football pitch, my point being that you have a fantastic indoor facility (that your underage cant use unless the pay for it) a football pitch that is closed more times than its open, resulting in your underage teams and ladies teams having to use other facilities around the Town, most teams have one pitch with many underage and adult teams, yet they dont close them to their players, so what are Killygarry closing their pitch for? As I said before, you have plenty of numbers at underage, but little success, so its time they took a good look at themselves to see whats going around. Your senior team being relegated to Division Two should be a warning sign and if its not heeded, then its only the beginning.

Lot of bitterness in this topic, I'd say there are people from Killygarry as we speak trying to work out who Cavanblueman is

Killygarry need to keep doing what they are doing and more off it. A growing suburb of Cavan showing the rest around the town (and in the town) what's needed.

Like any new growing area the club will experience growing pains. GAA these days is a numbers game. the more you bring through the more likely you'll end up with better senior squads. A lot of families may not have the full exposure to GAA or be from a GAA background but the will come with time..

Strangely enough being in Division 2 is probably the ideal time to blood more youth and in the long run will probably be more beneficial.

Like Ballinagh theyd have a bit to prove in the championship. Just not be giving the neighbours stuff to throw at them. At this juncture semi finals of Crosserlough, Ramor, Gowna and Cavan Gaels seems likely but wouldn't be atall surprised to see kingscourt or killygarry in there. Mullahoran could redden a few teams.

What have Ballinagh to prove? they already won a senior championship which was a fantastic achievement at the time given the fact that Ballinagh is a small town.

i doubt they restrict selection to the town but they were recently relegated to div 2 by a struggling arva side. No disrespect to either but ballinagh are much better than div 2 football.

No, but they got Lacken on one side and the Town with 3 clubs on other, so winning a Senior Championship was a remarkable achievement for them and no disrespect, Arva were missing players during the league, but were far from a struggling team with their 3 county players back and should win the junior championship at their ease.

Sure ballinagh town is twice the size of arva and recent achievements should be beating a club who are still a jnr chamiopship side. You could apply all that logic to killygarry with Ballinagh on one side and being on the edge of the town competing with Gaels and Drumalee for numbers. Your giving the crubany men an awful hard time on here and them standing county finalists.

They were supposed to win it at their ease last year too remember…. You seem to be dismissing Knockbrides chances all together… they might not be too far away but you're right.. Arva will be strong favourites…

Ballinagh is still a small town regardless, but they still won a senior championship. Killygarry is a massive area, they have the pick of 3 schools at their disposal not to mention the fact that they town border has extended in all directions. Cavan Gaels historically had the pick of 2 schools, Farnham and St Felims, although they also had to compete with Drumalee with St Felims, whilst Drumalee is also considered a town team with the pick of Drumcrave and St Felims. And now the Gaels and Drumalee are having to contend with Butlersbridge given the proximity of many estates extending out the road.

corlurgan and crubany schools are dwarfed by the boys school and st clares. fields and hills dont equate to houses and population. you are conveniently leaving out the other schools in the town that the gaels clubs have access to. And lots not forget the influx of players through work and in county transfers who have togged for their seniors in the past. you won't be giving credit to alot of hard work out in killygarry anyway. Maybe the tide is turning and you are just a bit sour.

You've left out the Gaels feeder region of West Cavan which has been of benefit to them over the years.

I did indeed, I also forgot Simonstown in Co Meath, I think Drumalee may have had an arrangement with them!

Stop the lights lad! Killygarry NS is one of the largest primary schools in the County with many kids from Town attending there, Crubany has also many kids attending from Town. St Felims are no longer a feeder school for the Gaels, so their draw is mainly from Farnham. The fields and hills as you call them are no longer fields and hills, how many estates have been built on the Ballinagh Road? Ashbrook, Creighan, O Raghallaigh Park, the Maples, Willow Ridge, then there's Meadowpark, Bramble rise on the Dublin Road. As for the influx of players to the Gaels through the years, that number is minimal and no more than most successful senior clubs in the County, but should ask yourself, if there are players coming into Cavan through work and County transfers, why are they not choosing Killygarry? There is certainly no tide turning and there wont be for a very long time!

you keep changing your point lad. first it was the 3 schools and now killygarry NS is a monstrosity. and i've never heard of one suburb being bigger than the actual town itself. working people from the town wont be coming up to crubany pitch when its 5Km outside the town nearly up the side of slieve glah. no matter how good the set up is. annoying how killygarry folks never had a big problem with gaels lads contesting county finals before. now the big fish in the pond is throwing its jealous weight around.

Can other clubs learn from this?"
Knockbride, small club. Do you realise the catchment are they have. Huge. They should be competing to win an intermediate, not junior. They have come runners up in minor championchip on 2 occasions recently. Under achieving.

He's not a gaels man, from Mullagh but is a Ramor man. And he has the audacity to talk about catchment areas
