A mix of easy hammerings and 50/50's that are very hard to call this week. A little more thought put into the margin of victories this week for WishfulThinking & Tom, so these will be on the money starting this week, where previously they were just a rough guide.

There is not much value with the bookies on backing my senior tips this week as a few of the 1 point winners are way too short. On the other hand, a few teams are over priced for those 50/50 games, so I will be going against my tips for a long shot accumulator currently at 49.61/1 with sponsors Boylesports:

Laragh, Lacken, Lavey, Ramor"
0 for 3 so far in the senior championship so maybe a bit more thought needed??"
A strong finish for 3/6 in Senior, 6/7 in Junior, for a grand total of 9/13.

I would have been hoping for at least 13/13, but it is hard to be fully right all the time with the likes Kingscourt knocking about just to make a fool good predictors, and Mullahoran who we now know just down tools in the odd group game to pretend they are worse than they are.

I haven't seen anyone beat the 9/13 either as of yet.

Tom84, for instance, only predicted a very very mediocre 7/13.

Tomsmith here from Cavan greatest Club in the past 20 years ie Cavan Gaels.
Tom and Pat you are both on the money in relation to your predictions, but it will get no easier as time goes on.
Sure some dead certs are still there like the Gaels V Ballinagh.
Sure everyone knows that the Gaels if given fair play and no adverse reaction to opponents misbehaviour sure the Gaels will win again.
But dont go on my recommendations.

I cannot get over the absolute tripe of the senior championship this year. That Ramor v Crosserlough game was like a bad under 16 game at the weekend.
They were both pathetic, but I would question the footballing IQ along the line too.
Probably the worst Gaels team in the last 20 years will win the championship, that says it all of the standard on show.
Anyone else thinking the same? It just seems to have dropped so much from recent years.

* Laragh lost by 1 to Gowna and should have won. Probably took Mullahoran for granted last week like the rest of did.
* Xlough have not looked any better than Gowna and have less need to win that Laragh.
* The favourites are not as far ahead of the pack as previous years and there have been shocks every weekend so far.
* 7/2 is too big for the difference between the teams.

Could be wrong now, but will probably be right.

A miserable 5/12 last weekend. It was always going to be difficult with so many dead rubbers, and the c'ship structure is obviously more to blame there than myself.

On the Accumulator. If you are looking for someone to blame, you can thank Ramor & Lavey for their honourable efforts and look no further than Laragh & Gowna to point the finger at. Both clubs need take a long hard look at themselves now after allowing the formbook be thrown out the window like they did last weekend.

On to the Knockout stages where 8 from 8 is both the target and the expectation:

Junior QF's:
Drung v Drumalee - Drumalee by 1
Mountnugent v Drumlane - Drumlane by 7
Munterconnaught v Knockbride - Knockbride by 7
Arva v Shannon Gaels - Arva by 7

Intermediate QF's:
Castlerahan v Bailieborough - Castlerahan by 5
Cuchulainns v Killinkere - Killinkere by 1
Templeport v Cootehill - Templeport by 1
Ballyhaise v Denn - Ballyhaise by 9

Best 4 team in the Intermediate semis. Killinkere were very poor, couple of late goals made it closer then it was.
McGee impressed. Templeport never got going against Cootehill. Cootehill have good pace and some big physical players like Shane Sexton.
Castlerahan were comfortable as were Ballyhaise

A few hammerings in Junior. Shannon Gaels put it up to Arva, but Arva had more composure. Arva v knockbride semi will be close. Drumlane should get past Drumalee
