Cavan Gaels, Ballinagh and Templeport for me. Ballyhaise could do the business in Intermediate but I fancy Ballinagh.

Sunday's Forecasts

Butlersbridge G.A.A(---)v(---)Bailieborough

I would think the Bridge probably have 1 or 2 additional scoring threats to Bboro in their forward line, and that this might swing it for them. Bridge by 4.

Castlerahan GAA(---)v(---)Crosserlough

I think this Rahan team only has a couple of more trips to the well left, but whilst winning the final could potentially be a step to far this year, I think they might get over the line here with a good spread of scores the team and be able to keep the Xlough forward line quieter than other teams have managed so far.

Ballinagh GAA(---)v(---)Ballyhaise

Ballinagh have some inform players and are a dangerous going forward themselves. But similar to the Bbridge game, I think Ballyhaise might a few additional scoring threats in their forward line that could swing this for them. I will go with Ballyhaise by 2.

Cavan Gaels(---)v(---)Kingscourt Stars

I expect Kingscourt to have worked diligently over the small break on a plan to stop the Gaels from running away with this early in the game, and I expect they will execute that well. I also expect Faulkner to be tasked with keeping McKiernan quiet and to do that job well, if not win that battle (and maybe bag a goal for himself). But the Gaels should have too much over the 60 mins and pull away in the last quarter to win by 5.

Hurling Final
Mullahoran St Joseph's(---)v(---)Cootehill Celtic GAA

I will go for Mullahoran by the puck of a ball.

The Gaels manager Kieran Donnelly is a Fermanagh man, Paul Fitz calls him a Tyrone man, maybe he lives there, but is from Fermanagh originally and played County with fermanagh.

watched both games yesterday. Never saw gaels as bad. They offered absolutely nothing. Hard to know how good Kingscourt are, could not judge them based on that opposition last night, they look pretty average without taking away from their win. Castlerahan missed mackey yesterday for that bit of cuteness which would have got them over the line.
I think Crosserlough will win the final pulling up by at least 8 points.

Just the 2 from 5 for me this weekend. Although my incorrect predictions did have some nuggets of wisdom even in defeat.

Castlerahan ere just the 1 point away from outfoxing young Xlough in normal time.

I did think the Gaels would be well shackled and stumble somewhere along the line due to a lack of cohesion and team spirit, which is what happened yesterday. You would feel for Ramor who caught them on a day they just clicked even though they were never going to be able to sustain the momentum to win the c'ship.

Given the injuries that Kingscourt now have, you would imagine that Xlough would have way too much in the final, but you never know with Kingscourt when they get this far into competitions.

Ballyhaise are another team who serially do not do themselves justice in the later end of competitions. But good to see Niall McDermott back playing well. Should be a very good intermediate final. I will have to have a think about that one.

Senior final will come down to injuries.
Kingscourt will hopefully have Faulkner bac.
Xlough could be missing Enda Gaffney and Adrian Smith
Very hard to call

yeah, it's really hard to fathom why Gaels were so bad. Even though at one stage GMac was lording it at midfield , it still wasn't translated in to scores. A few times they could have taken marks for certain points but played on going for goals and got sniffed out. Kingscourt just kept playing away nicely, passing the ball about and then their half-backs broke at pace and the Gaels coughed up frees which Barry Reilly converted. To be fair Kingscourt also had 2 good goal chances early on which I think ended up in '45s again which Reilly converted. Alan Clarke and a few others roughed up McKiernan and he became less influental but with all the talent at their disposal Gaels really should have been able to win this one. To be beaten by 8 points is unfathomable. They seemed to lack fight and intensity,

McKiernan cut a lonely figure on the pitch on Sunday night. Kingscourt clearly targeted him physically and verbally and it eventually wore him down. Not one Gaels player tried to dig him out. He must be wondering.

He wouldn't be used to being in club semi finals.

The ref has a duty of care to look after players on the pitch. Gearoid was subjected to a lot of verbal and physical abuse off the ball. A yellow card would of sorted out a lot of this. People expect him to be cavan's go to man in a county game then we let him be targeted like this at club level.
