Replying To The Quiet Man:  "Yes one would have to say that full forward for Cuchulainns was the only stand out player over the weekend in Breifni. Not sure if Micky was there but his side kick was so lets see if he get's a chance., It would have to be said however there was nothing special from the opposition. As for the Ramor Gowna game it would be hard to find a county player amongst them and I am not sure if Ramor have anything to get to a county final. Crosserlough scoring 3-19 must make them hot favorites for the senior title."
Who are you referring to as "his side kick"?

You came late into the second half of the Gowna Ramor game so how you can give an opinion is Crazy. Ramor aren't a bad side. I do wonder if you have a clue

I was at both games ham yes both games so how you can say I came late baffles me. I left Breiffni park at 2225hrs I was in the park before the kick off of the intermediate game so wrong once again. You saw me down in the tunnel at some stage but I was taking care of other issues for most of the games at the Manual score board end a few gales lads up there I am sure can confirm this not that I need anyone to speak for me. I like Ramor as well but the performance would not inspire me to say they had a chance of getting too and winning the senior title.

Gaels definitely had their homework and got the tactics right and found a fairly poor Kingscout outfit. Evan Fortune did well on Faulkner. THey dont have enough up front though-o'connor and Dunne were way off the pace but Keenan DOnohoe was good. Three Graham lads were very good on the pitch and Mickey was doing his bit on the sidelines

Predictions for the remainder of the C'ship:

Junior Final - Killinkere v Shannon Gaels
Hard to know what shape this game will take. Killinkere are the much superior squad in terms of the depth of quality and performances delivered in league and c'ship over the last few years. However I believe it is over 70 years since Killinkere won a c'ship and that has appeared to have weighed heavily on them in recent finals and if it does so again, Shannon Gaels have some top quality players that are well capable of taking standing up on the big occasion and taking advantage of this.
I'll go Killinkere by 1

Intermediate
Belturbet v Drumlane - Belturbet by 5 - Goals should get Belturbet over the line I feel.
Laragh v Cucuhulainns - Laragh by 1 - No comment to make with a notoriously unpredictable Cucu's team involved. A bit like the French Rugby team, you just never know what humour they will show up in.

Senior
Castlerahan v Killygarry - Castlerahan by 3 - Killygarry now seem to be a fully fledged challenger however they may just have missed the boat the last day like Kerry in the AI, as the Rahan are not in decline just yet.

Winners to beat the v Cavan Gaels - by 3 - The Gaels lack the firepower to beat Castlerahan at the moment

Crosserlough v Ramor - Game of the year so far. I think defenses will get more on top of the forwards and we will have a more low scoring affair than their last meeting in the groups, and Bradley and Cole might have that bit more experience and x factor to get Ramor over the line. Crosserlough would be worthy bookies favorites though.
Will go Ramor by 1

Intermediate

Belturbet v Drumlane (will be closer than people think, local derby and all that, Belturbet by 2)
Laragh v Cuchulainns (think Laragh will come through here and ultimately win the final, Laragh by 5)

Senior
Castlerahan v Killygarry (Crahan to improve and win by 4)
Castlerahan v Gaels (Crahan by 3, SJ a big loss there)
Crosserlough v Ramor (will be a high scoring cracker but i tip Crosslough to win by 3 and ultimately win the final)

Junior
Killinkere v shannon gaels (think gaels could spring an upset here, all depends on what kkere shows up. Im calling this one a draw, with gaels to win the replay narrowly)

A great intermediate semi final yesterday and then a game that should not have been played.

I was not in Breffni or indeed in Cavan at the weekend.

Can you explain why the 2nd game should not have been played?

Cucuhulainns appear to have been very unlucky with a late fisted goal also..

Cuchulainns will feel aggrieved by a couple decisions that went against them.

They second game should probably have been abondoned as conditions were dangerous. Castlerahan might not have been happy as they had game won in first ten minutes and handled conditions better but player safety is more important.

I thought the game should have been abandoned on Sunday but who was going to make such a call? Pressure was on to get a result on the day. Wonder was the ref advised at half time to finish the game. Would have been a travesty on Catlerahan though because their ball skills in the wet conditions was fantastic

Who was going to make the decision? Match officials let themselves down badly in both matches on Sunday, afraid to make the difficult decisions

It should have been called off health and safety reasons alone. If their was a serious accident who do you blame for after all it's the referees call don't they say.

Was listening to we are Cavan podcast and they were not too happy with the behavior of Laragh players during and after the game.

What kind of behavior was that?

The impression from the podcast was that the Referee did not sanction players with the appropriate cards for fouls committed leading some players to push the limits too far .

Linesman on the terrace side has a lot to answer for, must work from a different rule book than the GAA. Belturbet won't be bullied

Great game of football tonight between Ramor and Crosserlough the best game off football I have seen for a very long time. I watched Ramor last week and to be honest I did not give them a chance tonight but fair play to them they played a quality intelligent all round game. I hope tomorrow nights game is as good. Heres hoping.

Were two close matches in a well attended Breffni., Shercock had a great second half to retain senior status. Think they will be challenging for honours in the near future.
Crosserlough weren't just good enough to overcome Ramor who played very well. Ado Cole and James Brady were outstanding. Will take a good team to beat them in the final.
