Replying To cavanman47:  "Talk of McGuinness on the main page!!

He would fit the bill of all Ireland winning player.

Be some coup for Cavan if we pull this one off!"
Is he available. Might be a great move it would be nice to see something positive come from all the above.

No idea. I don't know what he's doing apart from the work with sky. And he only has a few more days left at that until next may.

Let me tell you now to save pages and pages of irrelevant posts the McGuinness is NOT interested. Also remember we turned McGuinness down 8 years ago when he was unknown and unproven as a manager.
A source v v close to McGuinness says he's not interested in managing GAA teams for the foreseeable future. End of !

Be careful what you wish for there wouldn't be much club football played.

There'd be no club championship while Cavan are still playing. So exactly as it is now.

We turned him down 8 years ago as he had no experience and funny enough thats why a lot of fellas are turning their nose up at a lot of other lads. It would certainly bring a wow factor if they could land him but I would doubt it to be honest.

how do you know for a fact that he's not interested? I heard this news last night from a Donegal friend who is close to action that reckoned he was most definitively interested and he reckons its nailed on. !!! of course sources surrounding him are going to say he's not interested!!!!

We don't want him lads we don't have scoring forwards like he had with Donegal would be a disaster.

if he, McGuinness, shows any interest in the role he should be offered a full time paid position within the County and his role should not be limited to managing/coaching the county team.

It would be some story but with Kingspan's backing it might happen.

Think you are wrong lad. Mcguinness is an innovator. He won't be trying to mimic his old Donegal but come up with something new.

It's not the end of this discussion until Jim mcguinnes says so, I think it would be a brilliant appointment.

Do enlighten us Martin?

Because:

1. It won't have been money given the support we have in Ireland and overseas, and

2. Whatever it is (control on club calendar, releasing players etc.) his track record now vs. 8 years ago gives him the right to be demanding and the county board would be foolish not to recognise that.

Well he will be asked on Sky next weekend and he will distance himself from the job .
So until then carry on with your fantasy.

Why are you so against this? It's like you don't want cavan to be successful?? You were very much against our last good manager that made us competitive and brought us up the rungs terry highland.

If he distance himself from it fair enough but why are you coming out so strong against it? What's your agenda??
