Plays midfield. He's in his 30s.

Replying To TheBlackDeath:  "I'm be siding with The Celt on that one. I haven't read the article (being an exile), but I have seen Paul Fitzpatrick, The Celt's sports editor, defend the article on Twitter. According to him the player in question's solicitor is the one who brought up and made a big deal out of his client's football. The Celt simply reported on that fact.

The Celt made the most of it

Open up the Court pages and there are 6 or 7 different sections.....and this one has the biggest headline. Obviously they cant not put it in the paper, but they definitely gave it more attention than it needed.

I would have been more impressed with the Celt, had they labelled the Donegal performance woeful, and went into detail on why, but they didnt......but thats a different argument"
His solicitor made the most of it trying to get him off. This is a disgrace that they are boycotting the celt. The paper didnt make him do it.

Replying To TheBlackDeath:  "Team has been released for tomorrow's game.

McVeety down as starting in the full forward line, but assume he'll drop deeper and run at defenders. I'm not familiar with the McCormack lad from Ballyhaise named in midfield, is he a good ball-winner?

If a full strength Cavan gaels team played that Cavan 15 (substitute Mackey in for Johnston), what do people think the result would be?

Think it be a tight game but Gaels mobility around middle could overrun Cavan. Having said that Gearoid could do damage.

The Gaels would certainly run them close, perhaps even beat them.

It's beyond belief that this is how things have transpired after our underage success. Just 10 out of 75 lads who played u21 from 2010 to' 14 are on the panel.

It ridiculous to believe Cavan Gaels would be Cavan. We are a Div 1 team. Cavan Gaels cant even beat most clubs in Ulster. Get real and stop ridiculous conversations like that.

If Cavan cannot beat this Wicklow by more than fifteen points they are going no place fast. Dublin beat them by twenty seven points pulling up so if Cavan have any crazy aspirations of getting to the super 8 they would need to show us the supporters they have the quality. I for one don't think the quality is there and has not been for many years. It will be easy enough for them I just hope it does not go to their heads. Looking forward to getting a quality team Monday morning.

Too bad it was only 14 points. Season over unfortunately.

Well one point short but only scored 8 points to Wicklow's 1-4 in the second half.
Sadly they will not hack it against the bigger guns and I suppose they will be hoping for another easy team but is their any left that this Cavan team can beat. Not sure if Tyrone are in trouble when they struggled to beat a Meath team I wonder would Cavan be better off getting them Monday morning. I suppose they will be hoping for a softer touch.
A win is a win so will it benefit this very weak Cavan senior team to develop ?????

Mowbar? Do you have any idea what you are talking about? If you did you would know Cavan cannot draw Tyrone on Monday. Game was over at half time, don't know how you could pay any heed to the 2nd half score.

Let's hope for a crack at Monaghan or Mayo on Monday morning.

Such a pointless post. What point are you trying to make? It's a measure of Cavan Gaels if only one of their players can make the Cavan starting 15. Anyways, tonight we did what we had to do as we can only beat what is in front of us. The question I would ask is where have the Cavan supporters gone???

Are you sure about that Fred? It's an open draw this year is it not, I thought they changed the rules?

Can't get Mayo. Our possible oppenents are Clare, Tipp, Longford, Carlow/Laois, Leitrim, Sligo, Monaghan or Down.

The game was done and dusted after 20 minutes last night. We play a beaten provincial semi finalists next. We could draw a Monaghan or a Tipperary or on the other hand we could get a Leitrim or a Sligo. We can only play a Tyrone or a Mayo in the following round, however, lets take it one game at a time.

First round was open draw and next round too. The difference this year is no A and B side.
