Replying To PatTheDandy:  "Bit of a bottle job by Laragh against a poor Shercock team with a fairly blunt attack. Really thought Laragh would have had the firepower to get the job done regardless of the weather conditions and been the best team to rattle Ballyhaise. Don't think there is anyone to touch them now..
Fancy a narrow Drumgoon win in the semi and Ballyhaise to cruise to the Intermediate winning both semi and final by 6+.
Ballymachugh looked good at the weekend in the junior but Givney getting put off early would have ended Mountnugent's hopes of winning so it's hard to judge just them yet. Drumalee given a good scare by Kill which also means they are not too far ahead of the remaining teams. Both replays are tough to call and should be close again."
With all the negativity in football I must say that knockbride, kill and drumalee and kildallon are at least trying to play good football and not this disgusting defensive rubbish!!!!

Just another bit of negativity...3 o'clock on a saturday is hardly an ideal time to be playing a championship match?

Friday night would have been better.

By right both replays should have been played this Wednesday night, as was originally planned and realeased on the fixture list the County Board sent out to all clubs at the start of the month, so they can't have much complaints in my opinion.

I'm talking about the Kildallan v Knockbride and Drung v Shannan Gaels replays of course.

matter of opinion. with the majority of young lads living outside cavan saturday is the best day to prepare. I always found friday a nightmare to get ready for a game

With lads coming back from collage and there only day to earn a few quid is a Saturday I find it disgraceful to ask them to play on a Saturday afternoon, clubs will not have some players as players will not give up work for football and rightly so as the economy is such that jobs are too hard to come by.

The unemployment rate is down to 6% and falling. The economy is growing.

If the game was on Friday there'd be moaning about lads having to make it down from Dublin or wherever.

The GAA public sure love a maon.

Your correct about Friday too, though in your opinion do you think 3 o clock in the day is a good time?? Well if it is then why hasn't there been a game at 3 on a Saturday this year?? All Saturday games have been on in the evening time!!!!

It's not but maybe with lights, logistics and the other games being on in Breffni it was acceptable to all.

I see on the other thread that there's complaints that they're not on in Breffni.

The impossible job of fixture setting in Cavan.

There was a few Intermediate relegation games on last Saturday at 4pm. And also the Junior Championship Quarter-Final between Knockbride and Kildallan started at 5pm. While this weekend also the 2 Senior Championship Quarter-Finals throw in at 5pm. So I don't see much on a problem here atall. As I stated in previous post, why didn't both replays go ahead tonight as originally planned?

Absolutely, making things up as they go along. With the Intermediate semi-finals now taking place Saturday night, will the final now be played a week earlier than usual? Also when will the Junior final take place it was supoose to be weekend of 30th/1st November, which now seems highly unlikely. So many questions, very few answers. Great county board!

I take it you didn't watch Drung & Shannon Gaels play last weekend? Drung won't get close to winning it. Kildallan will beat Knockbride tomorrow too.

Was anyone at the 2 junior games?? I didn't get to either were they any good? What's the thinking on who will win junior out now?

Wasn't at either of the Junior replays. Went to Cornafean and Breffni instead. Heard Knockbride and Kildallan was another tense affair and went to extra time.
I was told by a Drung man that they were very poor against Shannon Gaels and deserved to lose. Is Niall Walsh playing with Shannon Gaels? I didn't see his name on the team sheet in the Celt for the drawn game?
Ballymachugh would still be my favorites but Knockbride and Drumalee are both capable of beating them. Don't think Shannon Gaels are strong enough to go the whole way although they could trouble Drumalee.

Shercock looked good in the intermediate semi. But against a very weak Drumgoon team missing their whole half forward line through injury. Moynagh was very quiet I thought, and didn't get on the ball near enough.
The Ballyhaise v Belturbet row was much more competitive and entertaining with some football played as well. I was expecting Ballyhaise to win comfortably and perhaps they are not as far ahead of the posse as people thought. Would still expect Ballyhaise to win the next day with Padraig Moore back in the full forward line and Bud Fitz out through suspension. Kevin Tierney also very disappointing and doesn't appear to be being used effectively by the management. Shambolic refereeing by Ollie Óg Reilly for both sides. Should never get a big game again if the county board have any sort of a clue how to organise things.
