Jonathan Lynam has been named in the Westmeath team for this afternoon’s All-Ireland SFC Group 2 Round 3 clash with Tyrone at Kingspan Breffni.

The Downs clubman replaces Andy McCormack in the only change from the side that lost to Galway last time out. Brían Cooney, son of former manager Jack, is a notable addition to the matchday 26. Dessie Dolan’s men need to win and hope that Armagh get a result in the other group game against Galway if they’re to reach the knockout stages.

Westmeath (SF v Tyrone): Jason Daly; Jack Smith, Kevin Maguire, James Dolan; Sam McCartan, Ronan Wallace, Jamie Gonoud; Sam Duncan, Ray Connellan; Jonathan Lynam, Ronan O’Toole, David Lynch; Luke Loughlin, John Heslin, Stephen Smith.

Subs: Trevor Martin, Lorcan Dolan, Kieran Martin, Conor Dillon, David Giles, Eoin Mulvihill, Daniel Scahill, Senan Baker, Andy McCormack, Brían Cooney, Shane Dempsey.
