Ballina Stephenites lifted the Moclair Cup for the first time since 2006 following a 0-6 to 0-4 victory over Breaffy at Hastings Insurance MacHale Park.
As the scoreline suggests, the final was a poor spectacle, but that won't bother Ballina who captured their 37th title after a long wait by their standards. For Breaffy and their talisman Aidan O'Shea, the search for a first senior crown goes on after losing their fifth final in 10 years.
Ballina led by 0-4 to 0-1 at half-time thanks to scores from Evan Regan (two), Conor McStay and Luke Feeney after a Conor O'Shea free had given Breaffy an early lead.
Breaffy, who were fortunate not to be further behind at the break, reduced the deficit to the minimum through Conor O'Shea and James Minogue after the restart, but they couldn't get any closer as efforts from Frank Irwin and Regan got Ballina over the line.
