Today’s Cork Premier senior hurling championship meeting between Kanturk and Midleton has been called off as the result of a medical incident.
The game at Castletownroche was just eight minutes old before being called to a halt after a member of the crowd took ill.
The pitch was cleared and an air ambulance arrived some 20 minutes after the initial stoppage.
Shortly after that, match referee Niall Fahy returned to the pitch and blew the full-time whistle.
The score before the stoppage had read 1-0 to 0-2 in Kanturk’s favour and, according to EchoLive.ie, Cork GAA are most likely to refix the game for next weekend.
