John Cleary has warned his Cork side that they won’t always get away with the number of scoring chances they missed against Clare last Sunday.

Two goals from Sean Powter and another from Mattie Taylor helped the Rebels to a 3-10 to 1-8 victory after they had trailed by a point at half-time in Cusack Park.

"We missed a penalty and maybe four goal chances. We're doing that everyday. Some day, it will come home big-time to haunt us,” the Cork manager told RTÉ Radio 1's Sunday Sport.

"As long as you win, we can learn from that. Hopefully, the next day [against Louth], we can go out and make those goal chances count. But in fairness to we got three goals today but missed a few and will go back to the drawing board and work on those.

"I thought we'd a mixture out there. Some of our players played well and others I didn't think played well. We'll look at that during the week. But the main thing is we got over the line and we can let those lads know that they can work on their game now for the Louth game in two weeks' time, which is another big trip for us and a big away game for us."
