Killanena claim intermediate hurling title

Killanena made history on Sunday in Cusack Park when they won their first ever Intermediate hurling championship thanks to a 1-10 to 1-9 victory over Ruan. This result means that in 2011 Killanena will compete in the senior hurling championship. The Flaherty brothers were to the fore in this success with captain Mark (0-6) and younger brother Ronan (1-3) accounting for all bar one of the east Clare sides scores, the other score came from the stick of Fintan McNamara (0-1). Ruan had their major courtesy of Alan Bell.
