Division 2 League Final

Cornafean 1-7     Laragh 3-14

 

A cracking early goal for Cornafean from the boot of Conor Sheridan was as good as it got for the Reds in this 2021 Division 2 Reserve Final against Laragh played in a very wet Terry Coyle Park on Saturday evening last.  Despite a hard working performance from the Reds.  Laragh seemed to adapt better to the tricky conditions and were certainly  more economical in front of the goals.  It took a couple of great saves from goal keeper Rory Geoghegan including a penalty to maintain Cornafean's interest in the game as half time approached but things did not improve for the Reds in the second half as Laragh pushed on to deservedly claim the Division 2 league title by a 13 pt margin.  Well done to the players and management on reaching the League Final and hopefully the team can  bounce back over the coming weeks as they play in the Reserve Championship.
