How ridiculous is the above statement. Shut the door on any potential outstanding player that might emerge throughout the year. I am surprised S.Goldrick I really thought you would be the last person on this forum to come up with it.
Just an example if I may I think there are 4 Cavan Gaels players on the panel at the moment there is at least three Lavey players how would these clubs manage without these lad's not a pig's chance in hell."
Seanorinn, It's not that stupid, It may sound radical but it is a solution to a problem which will not go away otherwise. Let's face it , The county set-up is Professional in all but name already."
Golderick you ask one county player would he give up playing with his club to concentrate of county football and not 1 will say they would ."]what, even if they were paid ?"]There not being paid are they? And they won't be paid either.
There enough people getting paid without paying County players

I have a feeling several would walk away from their club to concentrate on the county but I have a feeling that we are getting lost here and here and draconian measures like the one thats been suggested will never happen and I say it again not a pigs chance in hell would clubs agree to it happening.

So the clubs are happy enough with the way things are - that's fair enough - having their top players burnt out by time they re thirty or earlier.
You will never get a consensus among club administrators about anything but I guarantee you a lot of the players would have a different view

Start provincial championships 1st Sunday in May with finals 1st weekend in June.... 5 weeks
Give June to club championships only with county players playing.
All allireland qualifiers start in July .. 4 rounds over 5 weeks
County championship to continue when county knocked out of qualifiers
All ireland quarters , semis over 4 weeks in August .
Final 2nd week in sept.
All county league games to be played with senior panel.
It could work if Provincial championships were played over 5/6 weeks

There's no way teams will agree to play a preliminary round then a quarter final a week later against a fresh opponent.

Also, the ulster council benefit too much from replays to only allow a week between rounds.

It could certainly be condensed tho. Something more like:
Week1. Preliminary round
Week 2. 2 QFs
Week 3. 2 QFs (including. Preliminary winner)
Week 4. Semi final between week 2 winners
Week 5. Semi final between week 3 winners
Week 6. Rest
Week 7. Final

That's about as tight as you could make it and that's 2 weeks shorter than the 2017 championship. But it's just as easy to do the same with all other provinces (Leinster would run a week longer but that could be offset by staggering the all Ireland quarter finals)

So all Ireland series could be:

Week 8. Connaught and munster final losers qualifier games
Week 9. Ulster and leinster final losers qualifier games
Week 10. 2 QFs
Week11. 2 QFs
Week 12. SF
Week 13. SF
Week 14. No game
Week 15. All Ireland final.

This year, that would make the all Ireland final the 27th of August.
The only way a team suffers the 1 week turnaround is if they play a replay. That should encourage teams to go for the win in the closing stages and extra time could apply to all games (tho the gaa would be slow to go along with that).

Replays have to be replaced by extra time up to all Ireland semis.
But it will never happen because of extra gate.
It won't even happen at club level.
Both Ulster semis should be a double header as there never more than 10/12 thousand at each.
Club football needs to go knockout as there are way too many meaningless group games with no one at them.
Groups of 3/4 where 2 qualify is madness.
If provincial councils condensed the championship to max of 7 weeks and CBs did the same there would be plenty of weekends to run things off.
only club replays should be final or semi. Otherwise extra time
