AS a senior poster of long standing highly intelligent posts ( Not my words but the words of the great Mrs T) I just wonder where all the old posters of say 5 to 10 years past have gone. I do know that some have passed away , and may God rest their souls but others I meet in or around Kingspan Breeffi Parrk on a match day. I do know that some posted under different names and handles . THis is understandable when you have a superior team like the Gaels in Cavan Gaa , people are sometimes embarrassed to say that they support a Country team that got hammered by the big Town team It was discussed in the Imperial and it was felt that a presentation should /could be made to senior posters say every .5 years. It was mooted that it could be a Gold/silver / bronze or just plain white A4 certificate depending on the quality of the Posts. . This just an idea What do you think ?

As an old poster, I haven't commented on the stand for a while, but I try to catch up the comments now and then. I have to agree tomsmith with your comments about the Gaels. As a club, they set the bar very high and the other teams throughout the County havent got near them - when he bumblees from Crosserlough won the Championship a couple of years ago, we kept hearing that this team would go on to win numerous titles but it never materialised. Gowna and Ramor seem to be the new teams to watch our for, but again, looks like the lads from the barrack hill are on an upward spiral once again, if truth be told, theyve never really been away, I think, after winning so many championships in the past 20 yrs, the hunger may have waned a little, but with Jayo back at the helm and players back from injuries, it wouldnt come as a big surprise if the Cup is back home come September this year again.

Well when you transfer in Cavan's best player (yet again) from a junior club, you'll always be in with a shout

Well Jamsie why blame the Gaels for people wishing to play at a higher level. If the Gaels took / or allowed all the players that want to transfer in the Club would have 5 yes five adult teams. Its not the Gaels fault that, it the fault of them Country Clubs . The Gaels have and are one of the finest Clubs in Cavan for the past 20 years or indeed I am reminded by the great Mrs T that indeed maybe for the past 40 years . She has not made many errors yet

It's actually Swads fault for coaching and nurturing him into the player he is and then not providing him with the population needed to match his ambitions. Swad and the likes of ShannonGaels with Forde really need to do better. Thankfully the gaels are so nice that they reluctantly accepted the call to allow this lad to transfer. They must have a great vetting process to only take a few of those numerous calls. We should all be more like the Gaels

Poor auld Gearoid Mckiernan remind me of a poor farmer dragging a dead donkey round the field behind him scores 3-14 and still on losing side what were the other 14 superstars from Cavans best club doing.

3- 14 was some scoring from Gearoid McKiernan. He has put up some really high scores since he joined the Gaels. They would be very average without him. Not enough scoring threat elsewhere

I'd be stunned if Jason abandoned his club for the bright lights of the Barrack Hill

I'd take a different view there. I'd be complementing the players who kicked it into McKiernan for him to be able to get these scores in the first place against a team who's 1 of the favourites for the Championship. If the county Team kicked as much ball into Paddy Lynch maybe we would have won the Tailteann Cup . Just a thought . With no Martin Dunne, Nial Smith,or Stephen Murray and cameo rolls from O Connor, Paul Graham and Johnston I think the Gaels put up a good performance for a team who are in transition.
