Get Behind The Team

(Oldest Posts First)

Let's get rid of this nonsense that Cavan's best players don't want to play for the county. Cavan's best players are the men committed to the jersey ie. those who turned up to play yesterday. Forget about all the ludicrous pub talk, if a man doesn't want to wear the county jersey forget about him.
Forget about yesterday, cavan forwards had the most appalling luck in front of goal. My heart goes out to them and l want them to know that l am 100 per cent behind them for next Sunday.
l recommend two things to co. board a) better investment in S&C. b) get rid of one or two boisterous back room guys.
Come on the blues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fine sentiment and encouraging words, but what went wrong in front of goals certainly wasn't luck.

We lack a killer instinct in front of the posts and we've now lost our disciplined shape in defence too.

no point in just putting 15 players on the field just cause they are able to turn up to training 5 or 6 times a week if performances like saturday are the result. You'd be far better of actually accommodating the BEST players in the county. There's easily a full compliment of better scoring forwards in the county that are bettering their county counterparts year in year out at club level while being marked by county panelists. If they can do this with their club trainings, i'm sure they could do it with 2 county trainings a week instead requiring them to turn up for of 5 or 6. Or even a minimum requirement should be for management to pick the players on the panel in their best position. Conroy is not a centre back but there's 2 natural centre backs on the panel, faulkner is not a midfielder. mcKiernan isn't mobile enough for a midfielder, he stood in the center of the pitch watching his man stroll forward for the roscommon goal.

I think that the team will improve as they grow in confidence, present times with virus implications is not conducive with that! We are playing positively and with the gelling in, can grow to form a strong team! Have patience! Come on Cavan!

And what if these lads don't want to be accommodated? You're making a lot of assumptions for different players. Have you spoken to any of these lads and asked them the issue or are you just going with the rumour mill?
A lot of players have been tried with Cavan over the years and some of these lads leave the panel and suddenly they're the best thing since David Clifford when they reality is they didn't make the cut when tested.
