Cootehill Celtic retain the Cavan SHC title.

Cootehill Celtic made it back-to-back Cavan SHC titles following a strong second-half display which led to a 1-16 to 0-9 victory over Mullahoran in today's final at Kingspan Breffni.

The Celts, who were 0-8 to 0-6 ahead at the interval, exerted their dominance in the second-half and Rian Delaney's goal in the 44th minute put clear daylight between the sides. St Joseph's had more than held their own in the first period but the champions ultimately outscored them by 1-5 to 0-1 in the third-quarter.

Mullahoran goalkeeper Darren Sheridan had a chance to get his side back into game but his 50th minute penalty blazed over the bar. Cootehill saw out the contest comfortably with points from Mark Moffett (free) and Niall Clerkin.
