Cavan have appointed Galway native Michael Carr as their new senior hurling manager.
A Lory Meagher All Star winner with Cavan in 2009, Carr won Galway and Connacht championship titles with Clarinbridge in 2001, losing out to Birr of Offaly the following March on All-Ireland club final day.
This past October Carr helped his adopted club Mullahoran St Joseph's back to the senior hurling championship crown in the Breffni County, scoring 2-4 in the final against Cootehill Celtic.
Daithi Neary, Thomas Smith and Michael 'Bricker' Wall will join his backroom team as Cavan get set to make their return to Allianz League action in Division 3B, having competed in the Lory Meagher Cup for the first time in six years this past season.
