Carlow GAA look to have secured the services of Colm Bonnar as senior hurling manager for another year at least.

Bonnar has been linked with the vacant managerial roles in his native Tipperary and Waterford since those positions became available.

The former All-Ireland SHC winner guided Carlow to their best ever year in 2018 as they won the NHL 2A title and the inaugural Joe McDonagh Cup.

The league win sees them ply their trade in 1B next year alongside such illustrious opponents as Galway, Waterford and Dublin.

It was commonly known that Carlow GAA were keen to keep their man and it looks as if they have succeeded in doing so.

Meanwhile, Turlough O’Brien is also set to remain in his position as Carlow senior football manager following an exceptional year for them as they gained promotion in the league and will ply their trade in Division Three for the first time in over 30 years next year.
