Cork have been handed a walkover in the All-Ireland senior camogie championship opening round after opponents Offaly revealed that they are withdrawing from Saturday's Group 1 fixture due to a positive Covid-19 case within their management team, with a number of players having to self-isolate as a result.

A statement by Offaly Camogie reads: “Further to the news that broke yesterday evening it is with regret that we can confirm that the Offaly senior team are withdrawing from the first round fixture in this year’s championship due to a member of our senior management team being diagnosed with Covid-19.

“In addition a number of our players are self-isolating due to unrelated cases.”

Meanwhile, Cork's second round tie against Galway has been pushed back 24 hours on Sunday week, November 8 to avoid a fixtures clash with the Cork ladies footballers who are set to face Kerry in the All-Ireland senior football championship.
