Westmeath camogie manager Johnny Greville gave the most passionate GAA interview of the year after guiding his side to a memorable comeback win over Galway in this afternoon's All-Ireland intermediate final at Croke Park.
In a cheeky dig at the Dublin football boss Jim Gavin, who is noted for keeping his emotions in check when giving post-match interviews, the Raharney clubman joked to interviewer Evanne Ni Chuilinn that "you're not going to get a Jim Gavin from me" as he basked in the Lake County's victory along with his sister Pamela, who accounted for 0-9 of their tally.
Westmeath came from seven points down at half-time to win by two and secure senior status, just two years after winning the junior 'premier' championship. The hurling-mad Greville family have been central to their meteoric rise, with another sibling, Jimmy, being part of the management team. Three other brothers, Paul and twins Robbie and Gary, are stalwarts of the Westmeath hurling team, while their father Sean was a star goalkeeper for the Lake County in the 1980s.
