Former Armagh attacker Steven McDonnell couldn’t have asked for a better first game in charge of his native Killeavy as they got their senior football championship campaign back on track against Culloville Blues last night.
McDonnell succeeded Niall McAleenan earlier this week following the latter’s decision to step down after Killeavy’s 14-point defeat to Cullyhanna in the opening round last Friday week.
Eight days later and McDonnell’s men bounced back in style with a 3-11 to 2-5 victory over the Blues in Killeavy, where Niall Magennis (2) and Caolan McConville supplied the goals for the winners the first-half.
