Oisín McConville has spoken about how Kieran McGeeney has always demanded the most out of everyone he has played with and managed.
McConville doesn’t think it’s any coincidence that McGeeney has been the driving force behind Armagh’s two All-Ireland SFC triumphs. Twenty-two years after captaining the Orchard County to their first Sam Maguire, he led them back to the Promised Land as manager last Sunday,
“He just always wants more, nothing is ever good enough, he always wants more,” McConville said of his former Armagh team-mate and skipper on the GAA Social Podcast.
"You know when it's the Thursday training before championship and you think you're going down, a wee bit of shooting, a wee bit of tactical stuff, maybe a few kick-outs - nothing was ever good enough for him.
"In his eyes it wasn't, in my eyes it was grand, '100% no bother, this is going okay', but 'okay' was not good enough."
