Former county star Pascal Kelleghan is the new manager of the Offaly U21 footballers.

Despite being still in his early thirties, Kelleghan - who continues to line out for his club Rhode - has gained management experience with Meath club Ballinabrackey over the past two years. Last year, he led them to county and Leinster club JFC honours, while they comfortably retained their intermediate status under his watch this year.

Meanwhile, Clara are seeking a new football management team after Noel Brady and his selectors Willie Reynolds, Tony Dalton, Padraig O'Meara and Westmeath boss Pat Flanagan stepped down in the wake of last month's shock Offaly SFC final defeat to Edenderry. And it's believed Clara stalwart Scott Brady isn't in new Offaly manager Gerry Cooney's plans for the coming season.

Cooney is also planning without another Clara man, Joe Quinn, who was recently appointed as Westmeath's new physical trainer, while Ciaran McManus has announced his retirement after 16 years of service. Tweet
