Very sad to seeThommo getting sacked. There have been rumours in Glasgow for some time that his drinking was out of control. It deflects a bit of the limelight from the other sidefor a few hours but that wont last long. I see a few of their LOYAL supporters are now having a go at Laugh at Me cos he married a Catholic. They are calling him a Plastic Prod, some things never change. Anyhow back to Thommo really sorry to see it end like this, Thanks for the memories Alan and I hope you get things sorted out.

Big shame for Alan Thompson and his family, no doubt he will ridiculed by all an sundry but this is no laughing matter and I wish him well in his efforts to turn his life around. Maybe a return to the Bolton backroom awaits in the future.

Feel sorry for Thompson. He's been a big part of Celtic down the years and was a very important foil for Lennon. But he has his demons which will hopefully be sorted out. I doubt he'll be out of work long.
Again though, maybe its showing a ruthlessness in Lennon that we need to see in order for him to become a truly top manager. He needs to be cracking on now with signings. It won't be long until the Champions League qualifiers are upon us. Hopefully a few more Wanyama like gems can be unearthed.....

http://www.thescottishsun.co.uk/scotsol/homepage/news/4361023/Taxman-to-axeman.htmlNow I know what publication it's in, but if Lizzie is plotting her plan of action and pulling in a decent firm to deal with the liquidation surely it is only a matter of time now. Tick tock.......I knew those jubilee bills would finish them off!!!!

Yeah tribe, read a similar article this morning. How stupid do Rangers, D&P or Mssrs Green & Whyte think HMRC are. They come out and offer 9p in the £1 to creditors claiming thats all they can afford yet they are sitting on assets which are believed to be in the region of £100-£120m. Its clearly an attempt to rid themselves of their debt and then be left in a favourable enough position which HMRC are having none of. Hope Hector has a good hatchet swinging arm!

I think Offside what's mind blowing to me is that they now owe £18million in unpaid tax???? Jaysus christ why have they still not been paying it???? Do they honestly believe they are above the law??????
It really defies logic.......

Lads I don't think its as cut and dried as that. One arm of the HMRC vets these agreements and dots the i's and crosses the t's and prepare the document for any eventuality. A very seperate department will look at the deal and these are the guys who will say Yes or No. I don't think you can read too much into it apart from fact that if CVA is rejected, Whytes pals Duff & Duffer will be sidelined and Green wont get Ibrox & Murray Park for buttons. On the face of it one would expect the CVA to be rejected but we dont know what forces are playing in the background. I'm still hedging my bets on how this whole thing will play out but the waiting will soon be over one way or the other.

If the CVA is rejected then surely the assets should be open to other bids than just the one already mentioned.
Fair enough bids will be scarce as it's hardly an attractive investment but if it's on the market for as little as £8.5 million (Greens offer), then surely there might be others out there looking at it as a property development. Sure up until a few months ago weren't Ibrox and Murray Park valued at over £120 million combined.
Interesting to see that Dave King, the second largest shareholder at Rangers has come out and said that he hopes the CVA is rejected, and urged fans not to renew season tickets yet. He also claimed he could sue the club or Murray / Whyte for fraud, at a value of £20 million.
The Jim Corr's among us might believe this to be a little too convenient though, as a £20 million claim would significantly reduce HMRC's share of the debt. King may then vote through the CVA, making a tidy sum in the process and still come out with a large share in the club. He could be just advising fans against buying season tickets as the money from these could be used as part of the CVA agreement, therefore not helping the club in the future.

I agree corkcelt that nothing is cut and dry and as I've maintained all along I will not believe they are dead in the water til I see the corpse being munched on by the rats. The clock is definitely ticking though as we're less than 2 months away from a new season and there are all the logistics to be worked out i.e. fixtures etc.

I'm still confident that Rangers won't be around next season. HMRC have demanded D&P rewrite their creditors report so as to give HMRC the say on what assets are transferred to Green's new Club. The sheer audacity of publicly trying to rob the tax man of 100 million is just breathtaking. The reputation of Duff & Duffer is now irrevocably damaged by their complicity in this tax dodge.
We know HMRC have moved to appoint their own liquidator and have veto over any pre liquidation fire sale of assets.
We know King is now suing for 20 million.
We know Rangers will be at least suspended from the SFA very soon.
We know that very reputable journalists with a proven track record on this story are reporting Green's investors are walking away at an increasing rate.
They're dead as a dodo. Any attempt to ressurect the brand will take years and they'll never reach the same level of strength again.

Charles Green;
"Frankly, I do not see what benefit will be achieved by this decision. My consortium's offer for a CVA amounted to a total of £8.5 million.
"Now that we will have to complete the purchase via the formation of a NewCo, the purchase price and therefore the amount available to creditors will be £5.5 million.
"I can understand HMRC deciding that football clubs which do not pay their taxes need to be punished, but by effectively banning Rangers from Europe for three years all that will happen is that there will be less revenue generated by the Club and consequently less money paid over to the taxman.
So by banning Rangers from Europe, HMRC will recieve less money due in tax... Eh is the fact that they haven't been paying tax for quite a while now not one of the main points here?
"The solemn promise I can make to Rangers fans today is that this Club will continue as Rangers Football Club and will continue to play at Ibrox Stadium."
How can he possibly promise that? Surely any purchase of assets can be challenged by creditors if they feel it's lower than the valuation. Bearing in mind Ibrox and Murray Park were valued at about £120 million back in February, I'm sure any cut price deal will be challenged, if not initially, then surely in the courts.
Paul Clark;
"HMRC has taken the view that the public interest will be better served with the liquidation of The Rangers Football Club plc as a corporate entity.
"The Club will continue to operate as it has always done but within a new company structure."
So it will carry on cheating as always then.
And despite the transfer embargo they're talking about signing Gattuso on a free transfer with £12,000 a week wages. Good luck getting support from other chairmen when it comes to voting in the newco if that's how you want to go about accepting punishments...

Yep tribe its brilliant news ok, if Hector had said yes they would have exited Administration on the 12th July and we would never have heard the end of it. They won't vanish from the face of the earth though and to be totally honest I don't really want them to. There are still a good few things that could happen and we still have interesting times ahead. However today is one for rejoicing, it will sicken them to the core to be liquidated and to have to reform under a new Company so lets have a major pig out on jelly & ice-cream today.

Hector i salute you. For once the right thing has been done. Next thing is whether this new company will be allowed into the SPL. Strong chairmen are needed now.
