Liverpool v Arsenal reminds me of the "Rumble in the Jungle" between Ali and Foreman. Ali was on the ropes for most of the fight but won easily in the end !! Same with Arsenal. If the game had gone on for another half hour they would have scored 4 or 5 as they were well on top at the end. Liverpool are a poor outfit !!

Did someone mention Boxing match?? If it was the ref would've stopped the match long before the final whistle to protect Arsenal from taking anymore punishment!

Yes Liverpool didn't deserve to lose but it wasn't as 1 sided as many are making out. Walcott had 2 or 3 decent chances and ox fired one just over, not to mention the 2 goals. Arsenal have dominated games down the years and come away with nothing so it's nice to gave the boot on the other foot.

Cmills,I admit i only saw highlights on motd but from what i saw Liverpool would have been unfortunate to draw the game, let alone lose it.

Ha ha did Arsenal not score all the goals in the game and as far as I can remember from looking at Match of the Day on BBC 1 Liverpool were given a very dubious penalty which was clearly a dive. having the majority of the possession is no good unless you put the ball in the onion sack and Liverpool didn't do that !!

No the ref would not have stopped it. Liverpool were the better team but in boxing terms, they landed no killer blows.

Well how are my fellow pool fans thinking about tonights game? For me its very hard to get excited about this game. We are as bad as last year in the league. Quite simply, Carlin Cup aside the results in the league this year have been shocking.

Not a hope of 4th and not even in the race but then again we knew that. We all need to give Kenny time but the signings have not been up to scratch. Is Kenny too much of a "fan" to be able to bring the club to the next level? Will the owners get impatient, who can we attrch to the club? These are the questions going around my head since the sunderland defeat.

No!!

I dont think changing managers every year is the answer. Stick with him for another year or so i am sure he will get it right.

Dalglish is a club legend, one of Britain's greatest ever players, he still look the part and has a good line of banter. And it's like the old Shanks-Paisley-Fagan days when the mantle was passed down the red line. But Kenny hasn't produced the goods in a long time. He's dated and in danger of compromising his legacy and Liverpool's status. He'll never walk alone, but he'll never bring home the goods. it was a feel-good appointment, but not a sensible one. It's bound to end in tears.

Thats a decent post Brickwall, with more than an element of truth about it.

I love Kenny Dalglish, I remember the immediate impact he made when he replaced Keegan in 1977, people thought it could'nt be done but he proved to be an all round better footballer than the permed one, and had a footballing brain few could match. Hell I even wanted to take Kenny as my confirmation name until the mammy intervened! But I fear for Kenny, times have moved on since he last managed at this level, tactics, fitness, the speed of the game, and so on, and the last thing I would want to see is Kenny being held in the same regard as the last ex player to manage the club, Souness, although I doubt that Kenny's ego would quite match those levels.

Very true Brickwall, the guy just isnt up to it as a manager at this level. I see what waynoI is saying but you can be too loyal also, i.e. middlesborough with southgate. He has spent an awful lot of money and they are no better off after it. Worse still they dont look like improving. Add to that the terrible way he handled the race row, and I think the board would be right to think about moving in a different direction. He spent 120 million, yet still played half a side against sunderland so he could beat everton in the merseyside derby, should they really have to be doing that after spending what they spent? Furthermore, after spending that much money, should they be playing in the same style as wolves or birmingham? Im all for loyalty and giving a manager time, but he has to answer for his actions also. There are better options out there than a guy who had 1 season of money driven success 17 years ago.

2 things with Kenny this week annoyed me.

1. Saying kit deals, the general happiness at the club and things being done "the Liverpool Way" are just as important as points and trophies and;

2. Saying Wenger should be brought to task for saying Suarez is a diver.

On point 1, is he genuinely trying to claim credit for the kit deal? Was in in boardrooms pitching to companys etc or was it the owners? Because it seems like a completely ridiculous thing to say. Win the points and the trophies (ie his remit) and the kit deals take care of themselves.

On 2, i don't think Wenger explicitly said "Suarez is a diver" although he did suggest it wasn't a penalty and lamented the fact that Suarez, rolled around in pain and took his shinpad off theatrically, when he only got a very slight touch on the other leg. Would Kenny not be better served ignoring Wenger and having a word with Suarez about going way too far with the theatrics. Or is that the Liverpool way?

He has got way too defensive needs to start choosing his battles more wisely as he seems to be simply rejecting every criticism and telling himself he's doing a great job.

When talking about Kenny Dalglish you have to sit down and ask yourself, Has there been progress in the fourteen months he has been back at Liverpool Football Club in a managerial capacity ? you would have to say , Yes , There has been progress - The proof is in the pudding - Keep on reading..

This time last year Liverpool where out of the Europa league, They where out of the FA cup , Out of the Carling cup and on March 12th 2011 had played 27 league games picking up 39 points ( http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2010-2011/table/2011-02-12 ) . Fast forward to today , 13th of March 2012 , Liverpool , Are in the quarter final of the FA cup , Have won the Carling cup, and have Thus far played 27 league games picking up 39 points. ( http://www.statto.com/football/stats/england/premier-league/2011-2012/table ) - So , It is clear to see if you compare the 13th of March 2012 to the 12th of March 2011 , there is absolutely no change in terms of League points after 27 games , Which is a disappointment but to flip it , We are one game away from Wembley in an FA cup semi final , We have won the Carling cup (thereby qualifying for Europe next season) - Is that progess ? Of corse it is

It doesnt take away the fact that our league form all season has been very very average and thats putting it nicely, But there are signs of progress. Liverpool are playing a much nicer brand of football , They have the lowest chance conversion rate in the Premier league this year, But they are creating hats full of chances , We are just not taking them, Again if you flip it , While we have the worst chance conversion rate , We actually have a better defence than 17 clubs in the league. Only the two manchester clubs have conceeded less this year , So it is very clear to see where Liverpools failings have been this season .. And thats scoring goals. If you had of told me last year that this time next year Liverpool would have won the Carling cup thereby qualifying for Europe, where in the last 8 of the FA cup , but had the same amount of points after the same amount of games in the league - I would have taken that as a starting point. Rome wasn't built in a day. What good would it do the club getting rid of another manager , Just look at Chelsea who have chopped and changed their manager in the last two years , They have nothing to show for it

Kenny Dalglish has come in and steadied the ship. Sure the league form has been poor , And champions league qualification looks unlikely , but there is still a feel good factor around the club. We have won our first trophy in six years , We are back in europe (albeit the lesser competition but its a start) , And there is a good chance that after 16 years without a wembley appearence , we will be going back for the second time in 8 weeks if we can beat Stoke on Sunday. We also have the small matter of the Merseyside Derby tonight. And behind the scenes the owners look as though they have the club at heart unlike the other two planks there beforehand. Its not all that bad for Liverpool. People seem to be expecting miracles , It simply doesnt work like that , Foundations for success have to be laid. I'm sure that with Kenny in charge , It wont be too long before we are back amongst the best in the champions league and competing for domestic honours

Beff

Forget that for a minute , Whatever personal dislike you have for Kenny Dalglish's antics , Put that aside and answer what people are talking about , ie should he be sacked ?
