Last week Bolton signed Darren Pratley on a free and this week they are on the verge of signing Nigel Reo-Coker on a free, this got me thinking....

A few months ago the word coming from Bolton was they were in financial difficulty and for the moment were ok but would sell if offers came in. It is expected Arsenal or maybe Liverpool will buy prized assett Gary Cahill and clubs have also been linked with the Korean star Lee. Of course Bolton have alreadly lost last years best players Daniel Sturridge (be a big boost for them if he came back) and Johann Elmander (on a free).

It's more than likely most money from the sale of Cahill and/or Lee will not be reinvested and imo this will leave Bolton in serious trouble on the field.

Also, I'm not a big fan of Owen Coyle, he reminds me of Phil Brown except he got out of his promoted side at the right time (remember people touting Brown as future England manager, including himself).. Coyle has a similar cockyness, shown by referring to himself as moses and saying Burnley were lucky he ever manager them, and fellas like that never last long. Frailties were already showing with Bolton losing the last 5 games in a row last season.

11/2 to be relegated, might put a tenner on it.

If Gary Cahill goes, and it looks extremely likely he will, they will be in serious trouble. Bolton will get a big fee for him but if it's true that they are in money trouble then they certainlyt won't be splashing out on a replacement. And even if they do, Bolton is not the most attractive club so they would find it very hard to get someone of Cahill's calibre in. Elmander and Sturridge (who was excellent for them in the second half of last season) will be huge losses. The Korean lad also looked very good any time I saw him. He's involved in most of their chances so if he goes they will really struggle for goals. Nigel Reo-Coker wouldn't be in the same league!

Reo-Coker isn't bad and should have got more of a chance at Villa. They may struggle but I disagree about Coyle, I think he's destined for bigger things and is a very good manager. There's at least 3 clubs worse than Bolton out there though so they should be safe

I think Coyle will keep them up, even if they lose a few players.. Maybe a lower midtable finish.

This threat stinks of pure bitterness towards Coyle. I never fancied Bolton much under Alardyce but Coyle really turned them round last year although they fell badly in the cup against Stoke. He was really astute in the loan signing of Sturridge and previously had Wilshire. Would be tough if they lose Cahill but if they get in a decent striker they'll probably be ok .

Owen coyle is a far superior manager to phil brown. Brown was a total fraud and I am surprised you rated him miketyson. Coyle has a keen eye for a player, browns has a keen eye for the mirror.

QPR have done nothing, look like selling Taarbaat.
Norwich, I know nothing about but they haven't signed anyone of note either.
Swansea certainly are the best footballing team of the three, with the best manager - But they are having trouble getting in recruits too.

To be honest, Bolton or whoever will most likely stay up via default because these three are looking certs for the drop - I'd like Swansea to stay up though, think they'll do the best but the problem with trying to play football with better footballing teams will be exposed perhaps. Maybe they'll be lucky with injuries but the season is long and the squads will be exposed at some stage.

Bolton look like they could struggle to score goals this season after losing Sturridge and Elmander. If they could land a decent strike who could bang in 15 goals for them this season - not easy to find in present market though

shocking start by them and things were looking rosy for them halfway through last season, been on a slippery slope since then but i believe they will battle there way out, there a couple of teams
that are worse then them id say blackburn will definatley go anyway (unless they change manager asap) and i can see wigan joining them as well and possibly swansea

Its hard to know at this stage. I take a gamble on them staying up even if they sell Cahill. There is a long way to go yet.
