padraig doran scoring 2-4 for oilgate v askamore. the man is a serious prospect, when he gets good ball into him he is deadly, big lad with excellent hurling ability. looking forward to seeing him, paul morris, emmet kent in the wexford senior forwards next year, alomgside tompkins ad mc govern..

On the championship the Alley were very impressive today against Rathnure i think they have a big chance in the championship this yr this was also without Willie Doran

Doran was very poor against the Dubs last week. McGovern should commit to hurlers, not a footballer. Morris is going to be an excellent senior.

Doran was very poor in the three under 21 games against Kilkenny, Laois and Dublin i dont know where people are getting the idea that he is good enough for the county seniors next year. I was very suprised to see him being picked in the under 21 to play dublin after his previous performances.

back to the OP's original thread!!
Oulart annihalated St Annes, 6-16 to 1-9. Annes notoriously slow starters over last few seasons..but it's nearly August now! A score like that doesn't do anyone any favours.. although Oulart may disagree!

Doran was by far the most impressive Wexford forward if not player against Dublin.A good first touch and he can catch the ball in the air which is a near impossible for Wexford players to do seemingly.

He always needs a second attempt to catch the ball, they all bounce out of his hand. He got blocked more times than i care to remember and hit some woeful wides, but if you want lads like that in the senior team then fair enough.

Askamore looked flat on Saturday. Big guns Tomkins & Nolan very poor. Padraig Doran excellent young player in development so lets not heap expectaion on him. OIlgate were eager and busy. Alley had a good win seems to be a major improvement on last years form. Some of these lads were not in the intermediate pane ? Shane Grannell, Sean Og Whelan, Barry Kenny worth a look for the senior panel. Oulart impressive again and look to be preparing for a club championship. Nicky Kirwan 4 goals again What has happened Ferns? no win in two. Cloughbawn good win again Shels. As a genral point I think there is talent in this county but selectors need to think outside the box.

Was in wexford park satur evening for the ferns game satur evening and have to say i was impressed with the rapps!! They should that same never say die attitude they had last year! Ferns looked like they would stroll to victory at half time but the rapps made a few changes which along with the wind seemed to steady them! I doubt too may teams will want them in the quarter final! Saw cloughbawn and the shels in bell friday evening, cloughbawn were impressive! Tomas Furlong full back was outstanding!

by very poor d you meanscoring 1-5 from play, setting up numerous chances and winning oceans of ball? are you serious or is this some kind of a joke? dropped every ball? when he was the only wexford player capable of winning an aerial battle? have ya not been watching the lad for his club? scoring 2-4 saturday and something like 1-4 v rathnure? him and morris were starved of ball v dublin in the second half, first half they had a field day!
i dont rub up no ego's,. i have confidence in these players ability, perhaps if more people shared this trait, the lads might have a little more belief in themselves! cant believe what i'm reading on here these days!

Eammon Furlong, Tommy Foley and Kevin Courtney were the standout performers! Tomas Mahon has gone back alot! Paul Morris from ferns was the standout player on display although he was kept reasonably quite for the second half!! I dont think any team will really push oulart but the rest are all fairly evenly matched

I thought Doran started well in the under-21 then completely lost his way after hitting the post with an easy point opportunity. Fumbled the next ball straight after. He then took his eye of a clear goal scoring chance when all he had to was catch the ball. Also drove a couple of bad wides in the second half. I'm sure he has potential but he had a poor final. Was at the Rapps and Ferns game. Ferns had an eight point lead at half time but found themselves behind after 10 mins of second half. Eamon Furlong's size caused a lot of problems and Ferns are a bit small in the backline. Were missing a couple of key defenders. Mossie Mahon also had a very good game at midfield.

Stop bitchin, sure he could have gotten injured if there had been a round of football, it was his own choice to play at the weekend.

Nonsense, if it was a hurling game on saturday, no football would of been played, we are not giving our footballers the best chance to succeed...
