Sunday at 2.30 in Mullingar. Sorry to say that Meath will win easily. Westmeath are trying to rebuild but with so many players missing I fear some heavy beatings will set us back further.
Probably would have been easier build if we stayed in division 3. You only have to read these boards to see how low confidence is in the Lake County.
Hope im wrong however.....

No disrepect to our lads but if we get within 6 it would be a moral victory. I see the admission fee is up 30% into league games this year so this sunshine boy will have to sit it out. Must talk to the boss about a 30% rise soon.

The view seems to be it will be a short championship run so I will be blowing the sunshine budget on the home league games. We should look on this as an opportunity to develop. We could be fooling ourselves winning games in Division 3 but come the summer it will mean nothing. These teams will show us where we stand.

I am well aware of the hope within westmeath of a victory on sunday. But also know the reality is that you may struggle due to garrycastle lads away and rebuilding in progress. Hopefully you will give us a good game and its a enjoyable game

what college players are missing from Westmeath? I'm gonna say Meath by 6 and I hope I'm right. Should be a good clash our games usually are.

Ah we are not as noisey these days!
I fully expect Wedtmeath to target this game as one they can win, because they will show pride and get stuck in,and If Meath are not up for that ,they will be leaving Cusack Park, with their tales between their legs, something I have witnessed on the road on a regular basis..

i am not going to comment on the game just to say im glad i did not have to pay to get in
thanks to the generosity of a member of the backroom team

I wasnt there, but, from talking to a few who were, we are seriously lacking in midfield. However this isnt something new and has been a problem for a while. We need Shocko badly and indeed need all the Garrycastle lads back. Unfortunately we just dont have midfielders in the county or should i say ones that can compete at inter county level.

Exactly, the midfielders just are not there. Daly is promising but needs a big physical man beside him as he has a lot of filling out to do. I can't see why O'Shaughnessy would bother at this stage of his career. He's 34 this year.

The only redeeming factor was the fact that we did not concede a goal. Gary Connaugthons two saves were world class. The less said the better I suppose.

Need to to freshen the team up and try a few fresh faces to create some competition. The likes of lorcan smyth and brian slevin should get a look in maybe.

the team has been freshened up just missing key players and it looks like all are from the forword lines. the backs played well enough meath were just bigger and have a better pick. i still recon we cant judge this team till after march. just too many key players missing.

john15, not having a go, but, what players have to come back? I know there are the Garrycastle lads, Egan and Lynam. But who else is there? The hurlers should be pursued to try and get them back but at the moment they are gone. Who else is there?
