Garrycastle in Leinster

(Oldest Posts First)

Best of luck to Dessie senior and all the Garrycastle boys in Parnell Park on Sunday.
It will be a tall order to beat the All Ireland champions. I hope a good Westmeath crowd goes to support them.

The very Best of Luck to Des Snr and his troops on Sunday. A lift for WM football would be greatly appreciated!

Best of luck to Garrycastle - great double header with Ballyhale playing Kilmacud Crokes at 2pm with football at 4pm. Do Garrycastle have a chance ? Not in my opinion but who would have picked them to come out of Westmeath in the first place ? I expect a comfortable win for the Dublin side bearing in mind Portlaoise couldn't live with them and lost 3-11 to 0-10. I hope to get there for both games and will support Garrycastle as before in both the Leinster and All Ireland.

All the best to GaryCastle. You can never write them off but i think they will lose this one. A great double header for anyone heading to the game!

Best of luck to Garycastle on Sunday. They could do it but I feel St Vicents might just have too much for them.

Good performance by Garrycastle. Pity they didn't believe in themselves for the first 25 minutes when they stood off the opposition too much. When they began to play they were well able to match Vincents. As supporters, at one point in this game we were hoping that it would be kept under 15 points, at another stage we were thinking that we could win this. Vincents keeper brought off a good save from James Dolan that prevented Garrycastle taking the lead. If that had gone in heavens knows what would have happened. Overall a good performance by the lads who represented the club & county very well.

Garycastle are the one team in Westmeath that have the backbone to take on the best in Leinster. Well done yesterday and hard luck, if James Dolan had scored that I think they would have won. Dessie is still well capable of taking on and beating the best players in the game.

I was very impressed by Garrycastle yesterday. The fighting spirit was great to see. The two McCallon's, Browne and Guiheen stood out for me together with usual reliable James and Des Dolan. It may have been a famous win if James Dolan got that goal. Fingers crossed Moate go on and win the Leinster junior to keep the flag flying!
