Westmeath manager Jack Cooney knows that his charges will have to be at their best to pick up their third win of the FL2 campaign when they entertain Armagh at TEG Cusack Park on Sunday week.

For the second game running, Westmeath will host Ulster opposition following their win over Fermanagh last weekend. That victory made it two wins from three games and has them currently second in the table.

Cooney has welcomed back some key players and the likes of Kieran Martin and Jamie Gonoud are set to be available for the clash against the Orchard County.

Speaking to the Westmeath Topic, Cooney admitted that Armagh will be an even tougher test than what they have faced so far in the campaign.

“Armagh – they are going great. I’ve seen them play a few times this year and they are really getting into their groove. They had an excellent win over Kildare, but we are ticking along nicely as well,” stated Cooney.

“We would have targeted four points out of the first three games, that’s why we were so disappointed not to have won in Cavan. We still have a lot of work to do, but we will take it on.”
