Loughnane comments on Lar

(Oldest Posts First)

What does everyone make of Ger Loughnane's comments about "cutting" Lar loose. Personally I get great fun out of this because it will only spur Lar on this year. I find Loughnane's comments strange, maybe its wishful thinking because I'm sure any Clare hurling fan would be delighted to face a Tipp team that didn't have Lar Corbett pencilled in at 13 or 14.

Lar Corbett has unfinished business with Tipp hurling. I am nearly through his book, it is very hard not to like Lar. He is an enthralling character that stupid manager's couldn't figure how to best handle him over the years. The likes of Nicky, Liam Sheedy and Eamon O'Shea are the obvious exceptions, fingers crossed Lar will have an injury free year because he has so much to offer and nobody knows how to get the best out of Lar more than Eamon O'Shea.

There would be something wrong if Ger Loughnane did'nt have a go at Tipp in the paper, he does this every year, Lar needs to keep his head down and let his hurling do the talking now. I to read Lars book and the respect he has for O Shea is unreal he seems to be the only man that could read into the way Lar is thinking. Like it or not we need Lar in the Tipp panel.

Shocking stuff from Tipp tonight, will the great 'Lar' save ye? I doubt it, looks like the old enemy is eyeing ye up for the summer!
