Be tough to beat Cork again after the last few years, without disrespecting Offaly too much, Cork is the pivotal game. They'll be mad for a bit of revenge after recent results against us and both teams want to throw down a marker for the first round of the championship.

If we beat Cork then i think the league is ours. Forward line needs a boot in the hole though, John O'Brien isnt really good enough i dont think, Noel McGrath is probably feeling the second season pressure a bit as well. Hammersley looks good but a lot of our forward line are very similar, nice hurlers with the ball, not so great at getting stuck in without it.

Need someone with a decent bit of power and catching ability at centre forward, someone like Michael Webster but actually good!

gaillimh73:

Wouldn't galway be in the same boat if they lost canning???

Didn't get to the game or even saw it but from what i heard on the radio should have really put it away after going up 4 points, also sounded like the backs were a bit below par today but in reality i was expecting cork to win this one they are ahead in the preparation and seem to playing at the moment something a lot closer to a championship side than tipp were playing. Tipp cork in the championship should be a close one but hopefully given a bit more preparation for it Tipp can come out on top..... but no-one will be looking apast cork in the championship just yet!

I don't think either Tipp or Kilkenny will be losing sleep about not making the league final.

I also don't think Tipp or KK will be too bothered about the league results, but what they may be more bothered about is the reemergence of Cork and the fact that Galway may be getting some consistency! Still have Tipp as my favorites for the AI but it will be much harder for them than i first taught as there is now more than KK to worry about!

I think Cork know their starting 15 for the championship. Tipp are going along nicely & Sheedy in fairness bought on a lot of subs yesterday compared to Cork. Im not dissapointed at this loss as it probably prevents us from meeting Cork 3 times in 6 weeks.About only 70% of our championship starting 15 played yesterday & I can see sweeping changes before May 30th & I expect us to beat Cork as Tipp have learnt a lot more from this defeat yesterday than Cork have learnt about Tipp.We have 6 weeks to concentrate all our energy on the championship now where as Cork have a league final & are looking for their first silverware in Senior Hurling since 2006 if I remember correctly. Best of luck to them it was a great game yesterday & some craic with the Cork fans on Leeside again yesterday.Roll on May 30th.
